Having a huge brain fart!!!! Need help!

Ok, I'm really going to be of no help here, I can't remember the artist, title, or any lyrics. All I know is that there was a song released in 2003-2004 that I really liked. It was a female singer I've never heard of, but she sounded A LOT like Sade. The song was a real soft melody. Sade is very unique in that you can pick her out immediatly. This person sounded so much like her. (but it's not her) If anyone lives in sothern cali, it was played a lot on hot92 jamz. That's my only clue that I have, I have to know, it's seriously eating me alive. Really.
