Udo Jürgens is original austrian, and very very famous in the german speaking countries. His concerts are always sold out because of his popularity. His lyrics are always nice to hear and always have a little story to tell. He is popular since the late 60ies and I guess meanwhile he must be 70 years or so.

Thanks to you both. I feel bloated just listening to this song. , but from what I have managed to find out they all look and sound delicious also I'm sure the taste is so rich for some the portions would have to be small.

@ Tahira - Thanks for the link and background information. I have heard of this dessert before in a song by Ed Miller called "Cholesterol". Only in that song he calls it by the British name "Black Forest Gateau". It's funny, that is how I found his music. I was passing by a music vendor at the Games and that song was playing. It was so funny I stopped to listen and ended up buying the CD.
Thanks for the picture. It looks good, if I ever see it available I will have to see if it tastes as good as it looks.

@ Steena - Thanks for your corrections. On some I translated the words but couldn't come to terms with what they were saying to me.
On the "touching words" line, I knew what I had could not be right and I am sorry that I posted it. Poor judgement, no excuse, but an explanation, brain fatigue. Next time, if I know it can't be right, I will ?????? it and ask for help.
As always I learn something everytime you correct me.
On the "storm" line, I translated it as "blow to the storm", the references to that phrase that I found were about weather. "Announce" did not occur to me so I went with what I had. Since that is the picture that came to mind and you said it was OK also, I guess I'll just leave it.

It's a most caustic satire against gluttony, of course (the "cream" being the methaphorical representative of it): however, Udo Jürgens also manages to make the lyrics brim with the blackest sarcasm imaginable, most of which is not directly expressed, though.Thus, any translation attempt is prone to miss most of it. So let's look what we have got:

Ah, what a great refrain!
"bitte mit Sahne" instead would be a normal order to the waiter."aber bitte mit Sahne", however, is more specific:
1) as written, it could suggest a very haughty, condescending way of placing the order: "Make sure to not forget to put plenty of cream on top, you dunce, or else"
2) However, the intonation Jürgens gives it makes the meaning shift completely: I, at least, cannot help imagining a hapless addict junkie begging for his stuff! Or maybe a spoiled child whining for sweets at the grocer's?

Well, in a café (or a pastry shop) the guests are supposed to behave with decency and to exhibit good manners.
Ugly sounds like these are not very compatible with this environment, even if the describing words rhyme that nicely
"schmatzen" is the way a pig sounds while feeding from its trough. But the urge of greed is just too strong...

Well, as everybody knows these are some of the fattest calorie bombs in existence (btw, "Schwarzwälder Kirsch(-torte)" further up is a close relative): true archetypes of gluttony.

Ah, this is a bit less obvious. "Ordnung muß sein" roughly means "these things have to be done properly". These gals are regulars, you see -- their meetings are Serious Business! There are rules! Nice touch btw to use a word like "Ordnung" (order, all tidied up) to describe this dissolute manifestation of greed.

I think the corresponding english idiom is "the end of the story" rather than the literal "the end of the song".

"absahnen" means "to snatch away the best part of the profit for oneself" (literally: to eat the cream off the top of a cup of creamed coffee or so), possibly in a slightly indecent way. A dairy "sahnt ab" the fat on top of the vat full of fresh milk (in order to produce cream, butter or cheese from it). Harry Potter's Quidditch seekers "sahnen ab" when they catch the golden Snitch. European banks and political bigheads "sahnen ab" in a BIIIG way during the current financial crisis -- but let's drop that sad topic for now.
Nice rhyme, by the way. There really is "Sahne" everywhere!

"kippte" (rather than "fiel", fell): this verb expresses a particular, intended lack of respect.
Indicates a loss of one's self-control, specifically: of the ability to hold one's equilibrium,
in a very ungraceful way. Usually applied to cases of really, really tight drunkards.
"Er kippte aus den Stiefeln" (literally: he fell out of his boots).
Never applied to, say, a normal case of a person fainting (it is not her fault, after all).

Suggestion: the seats in a pastry shop usually are reasonably comfortable. So, how about
"seat" or "chair" instead of "stool"?

Nein, es dauert nciht den ganzen Tag; der "Boden" (chocolate buiskuit cake) ist sehr sehr schnell gemacht, man kann ihn auch 1 Tag vorher zubereiten oder schon fertig beim Bäcker kaufen. Der Rest geht auch sehr schnell. Aber wenn sie einen Tag steht (if the whole cake rests for 1 day), zieht der Schnaps durch den Boden und sie schmeckt intensiver.
