    Question Whistle song...

Okay, I've been searching for a certain song that has whistling in it. Unfortunately I don't remember anything else about the song, like the lyrics or any other instruments. I've been going through every "whistle song" list on Google but to no avail.

I can't really tell you what IS in this song, so I'm going to tell what this song isn't:

    1. it's mostly likely an oldies but I won't rule out the 70's/80's/90's, but if it's from 2000 or later...it's NOT it!
    2. it's not a slow paced tune or a fun little sing-along tune, so if it's any of these...it's NOT it!
    3. it's not Rock/Metal/R&B/Techno/Electro/Disco, if it's one of these...it's NOT it!
    4. it's not gimmicky or synthetic either

I realize this is probably the most vague description ever given about a song, but I really can't remember anything apart from the whistling. It's rather fast paced and a little high pitched, if I had to bet I'd say it's a blues/soul song or a protest song a la Bob Dylan.

Any suggestions would be great, I'm desperate for this song so any help would be much appreciated.

Are you talking real whistling: Roger Whittaker - Mexican Whistler

or whistling like Bob Sinclair - Love Generation

or Bridge on the river Kwai choir whistling?

-how long does the whistling last and how often?
    -where did you hear it?

Roger Whitaker - Mexican Whistler and the Bridge over the river Kwai tune are what I would describe as fun upbeat tunes, so they're not it, and Bob Sinclair's Love Generation came after 2000 so that's not it either.

If I had a microphone I could whistle or hum the tune but alas I don't have one

EDIT: I don't know how long the whistling lasts, I can only remember the first 5 seconds of it. I heard it on the radio as early as the mid nineties and last time was a couple of months ago on a radiostation that only plays oldies and 70/80/90 music. Which confirms that it cannot be a recent song like Bob Sinclair's song.

Sorry, just trying to establish the sub-genre as to quality and quantity, the songs were examples.
    Let's add to the abstraction:
    100% instrumental?
    male, female, language?
    elaborate or crude music?

Can we eliminate the Morricone music in Leone westerns (usually popular on those oldies FM's) ?

A Fistful of Dollars ex. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaNogNtT0zA

    MacGyverisms:
Good quality fullsized earphones can also be used as low quality, low sensitivity microphones
a land line telephone handset and voice modem-computer combination

All I remember is the 5 seconds of whistling, I don't know what other instruments or vocals are in it, it's not any of Ennio's music nor is it Walk Like an Egyptian.

I know this is really vague, but honestly, I don't remember anything else but the whistling. Thanks for the replies though

How would I go about using my earphones for a microphone Mr. McGuyver?

EDIT: I've tried using my earphones as mic but all I got was this lousy t-shirt...erm, static. I also tried to record with the mic on my DS but that didn't work either

how about "Me and Julio down by the Schoolyard" by Paul Simon. The original version has a whistling solo.

Could it be "Velas" by Toots Thielemans?

He has more whisteled songs/pieces of songs like "Turks Fruit" but that might be too 'happy' and "The man in brown" which might be too slow-paced.
