I am not very into Polish music... my girlfriend is from Poland and i hear some music i liked. But i don't listen it very much... at this moment i only listen to the new cd from my sister my (almost) wife.

I don't know all names from the songs... but the artists are:

Sofa, Kasia Cerekwicka, and the sister of my girlfriend: Kayah.

My girlfriend also listen a lot to Sistars.

From my sister-in-law i really like the song:

good question, kieron88, good question. The problem is that the kind of Polish music that's being promoted these days, abroad too, is anything but music to listen to: it may be some kind of aping soul, monkeying around, badgering the public, dogging drivers or making housewives cat if they keep listening to the radio. In sum, some psycho-somatic warfare.
There are, however, some nice pieces, but you need to look through mp3 downloads more or less at random, because the public taste has been molded to match the power play in the media. So, if you want to spend some nice time listening, ...

listen to Brathanki, but don't read their lyrics, because they are meant, for the most part, to be poking fun here and there.

speaking of Kayah, there's a nice parody of "Testosteron" by a major Polish satirical band called Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju. Honestly, most pieces worth translating from Polish nowadays is satirical bands.
