Thank you for your effort to help me.

    But it isn't the Cranberries.

If you listen to the recording I made of my boyfriend you can hear the melody and tempo.

It is accurate in spite of the fact that he's not a singer.

This is really proving to be the most difficult song to find

Can you tell us who you think the singer sounds like?

    The singer is female.

And she has a soft voice (it isn't ENYA, DIDO, or CELINE DION).

The song is in the style of EZ Listening and 60's Lounge.

It is like an upbeat love song (not R&B, SOUL, RAP, COUNTRY, or FUNK)

It isn't anything you would hear on MTV or VH1.

I've been listening to a lot of MUZAK songs, and this is the only one that comes close to your description:

"La La La" by The Bird and the Bee

Thank you for your contribution Bugmenot1.

    That was an excellent guess.

But sadly this isn't my song.

However, your's is the closest anyone has come.

The singer of my song does have this sort of similar sounding voice as the girl from Bird & Bee.

It's in that airy breathy vocal style; very soft.

Just imagine the singer from B&B (or her backup singers) singing the melody that I recorded of my BF.

That would be as close to describing it.

It seems like MUZAK is the only source that plays this sort of style.

Since you actually listen to MUZAK, please keep me in mind if you do happen to come across my song.

I'll keep looking for that song. If I can locate it within the next two weeks, I'll bump this thread and post here. If it takes longer than two weeks, I'll send you a Private Message instead. Just check your mailbox whenever you log in.

FYI, I search for songs everywhere. Here's one that I found on the playlist from a clothing store. It's the closest non-MUZAK song I've found.

Thank you for your kind efforts to help me Bugmenot1.

That song from Kate is really nice but it isn't my song

The girl singer from B&B was much closer in vocal style.

I'm afraid this one is really going to be hard to track down

The '' harpsichord solo... '' comes in at about 1:30 and 3:00...
Doot doots Dah Dah galore through the end. I think she has a soft voice.
It's easy listening. Slightly 60's Ahh Ahh canon. Loungy piano at the end.
    Anyhow here it is:

    Kate Nash - Merry Happy

I checked out this song because I knew the singer had that soft vocal quality like The Bird and the Bee. They also sometimes play this song on MUZAK. If you don't mind Sha La La instead of Doot Doo Doot, then I think this song is worth a listen.

This band's remix of "Blue Monday" gets played on MUZAK. When I checked out their other songs, I found this:

"Just Can't Get Enough" by Nouvelle Vague
