    Great High Mountain, I am lookin for copyrights and i believe its public domain meanin if the the writer has been dead for more than 70 years, no need to purchase copyrights,,,,thanks!

    Every source I can find list the original writer as unknown or "traditional".
    However, Keith Whitley and Ralph Stanley are credited as the composers for the version that the Stanley Brothers recorded.
    Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title
