What would my world actually be without you - at least that's what I would have done with this line
The "denn" here has no actual function, so I took "actually" for it since I could substitute it with "bloß", without changing the meaning of the sentence

I was expecting this. I wasn't really satisfied with what I had. After I posted, I was reading one of my grammar books before going to sleep and it explained about the use of denn as a modal particle. A little late but it doesn't matter as long as I learn.
