Default Japanese Romaji to English - Toki no Tobira

    Hello there.

I'm looking for the English translation to this song Toki no Tobira (The Door of Time). It's the insert song from Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians and I could only find the Romaji version of it. It's performed by Kariyuki, Mai:

    kioku no KAKERA
    kagayaki wa kienai
    itsumademo kaze fuku mirai demo

    meguru kisetsu ni oboete iru
bamen ga aru hitomi tojite mo
    nemurenai yoru senaka marume
    nukumori dake sagashitsu'zuketeta

    toki wa sugite nagarete mo
    tomatteru fuukei

    kioku no KAKERA
    kagayaki wa kienai
    itsumademo kaze fuku mirai demo
    tooi kioku no KAKERA
    ano hi no omokage ni
itsu no hi ka waraikaesu kara
ima toki no tobira wo akeru

ikibasho no nai kokoro no koe
    hibiku MERODI kishimu haguruma
    okizari no yume hiroiatsume
    hitorikiri de kakaekirenakute

    donna toki mo wasurenai
    atatakai manazashi

    kioku no KAKERA
    kesshite iroasenai
    azayaka ni eien ni kagayake
    tooi kioku no KAKERA
    mou ichido aitai
    atarashii kisetsu ga kuru kara
ima toki no tobira wo akeru

    kioku no KAKERA
    kagayaki wa kienai
    itsumademo kaze fuku mirai demo
    tooi kioku no KAKERA
    ano hi no omokage ni
itsu no hi ka waraikaesu kara
ima toki no tobira wo akeru

    Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEmvLi9xtXw

And also these few lines of dialogue if it isn't too much trouble:

    anna baito shite tanoka

    fuketsu desu

    bikkuri shichai mashita

    anote no baito wa aru

    maa ariccha arissho

    ari nano ka

iya Mama... nani wa tomoare baitodai mo tamatta kotodashi... Battle Tour ni ikeru

minna omouzonbun battle ii makucchaou... tanoshimi ni shitete ne

    Dialogue link: http://hotfile.com/dl/15704565/df982...asi_2.zip.html

Unfortunately I can't find the Kanji for it and I'm sure some of it may not make sense so your best guesses will be appreciated.

時の扉 - Toki no Tobira (The Door of Time)

    kioku no KAKERA
    kagayaki wa kienai
    itsumademo kaze fuku mirai demo
    Fragments of my memory
    Their radiance has disappeared
But the future forever blows its wind

    meguru kisetsu ni oboete iru
bamen ga aru hitomi tojite mo
    nemurenai yoru senaka marume
    nukumori dake sagashitsu'zuketeta
    I remember the returning seasons
Even if I shut my eyes, the scene is there
Sleepless nights, curled up on my back
I continued to just search for warmth

    toki wa sugite nagarete mo
    tomatteru fuukei
Even if time keeps flowing past
    The scenery has stopped

    kioku no KAKERA
    kagayaki wa kienai
    itsumademo kaze fuku mirai demo
    tooi kioku no KAKERA
    ano hi no omokage ni
itsu no hi ka waraikaesu kara
ima toki no tobira wo akeru
    Fragments of my memory
    Their radiance has disappeared
But the future forever blows its wind
    Fragments of my distant memory
In the vestige of that day
Because someday my smile will be restored
Now I open the door of time

ikibasho no nai kokoro no koe
    hibiku MERODI kishimu haguruma
    okizari no yume hiroiatsume
    hitorikiri de kakaekirenakute
The voice of my heart has nowhere to go
It's the resounding melody of a squeaky wheel
    Gathering together my deserted dreams
    Alone, without anyone to hold

    donna toki mo wasurenai
    atatakai manazashi
    I can't forget those times
    Your warm gaze

    kioku no KAKERA
    kesshite iroasenai
    azayaka ni eien ni kagayake
    tooi kioku no KAKERA
    mou ichido aitai
    atarashii kisetsu ga kuru kara
ima toki no tobira wo akeru
    Fragments of my memory
Will never fade in any way
    Forever shining brilliantly
    Fragments of my distant memory
I want to see them once again
    Because new seasons have come
Now I open the door of time

    (repeat 1st chorus)

    Kanji ref:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

As for the dialogue, let's see... my listening skills aren't as good as my reading skills. But you seem to have done some VERY nice transcription! (Do you know any Japanese?) Some lines definitely don't match up with the subs; others do:

    anna BATTLE shite'ta no ka?
    That was the battle?

    fuketsu desu
    It's dirty.

    bikkuri shichaimashita
    I was (really) surprised.

ano te no BATTLE wa aru
Was there a battle to begin with?

    maa, ariccha arissho
    Well, there may have been.

    ari na no ka
    There was?

yaa maa, nani wa tomoare BATTLE dai mo tamatta koto da shi, BATTLE TOUR ni ikeru
Hey, in any case, we made it through the battle, and can go to the battle tour.

minna omouzonbun BATTLE iimaka'cchaou... tanoshimi ni shite'te ne
Everyone will argue about the battle to their heart's content... that's to be expected, right?

...I know in a couple lines it did kind of sound like BAITO, but "baito" means "part-time job", so I'm sure they were talking about BATORU (battle) instead.

Anyway, I hope my translations help you out!

This is what I love about the internet: you have a song that you don't understand the lyrics to and you go online and ask a complete stranger and they take time out of their lives to help you out. I love the internet. And you, Dreams~, are now one of my favourite persons on it. If I knew you in real life, I would kiss you. But all I can do is say thank you even though it doesn't seem like much. Thank you.

I wish I could take credit for the transcriptions but I got the lyrics for the song on animelyrics.com here, thanks to AzureDark (by the way, you can up the translation there if you want. Where did you find the Kanji?). The transcription for the dialogue I got from my friend igarasi. The transcription I did was in the link provided and he corrected it for me. I don't know any Japanese save for what I picked up watching anime.

About the dialogue, part-time job is actually correct because the girls had to do a couple of them in order to save up money to go on a Battle Tour. The dialogue was as a result of the last girl finishing hers and the others weren't sure if what she did was a part-time job, or if there were any part-time jobs to begin with. I got the jist of what they were saying, I just didn't understand enough to put it into words. So I'll just replace battle with part-time job where necessary.

You have no idea how much you helped me and I am very grateful. Thanks, again.

Doesn't tanoshimi mean "have fun" or "enjoyable"? Or maybe it's tanoshii?

    Smile A little more accurate

    "Tanoshimi ni shitete ne"

We have something to look forward to.

    "Donna toki mo wasurerarenai
    atatakai manazashi"

I will never be able to forget
    Your warm gaze

    Smile Another one

    "hitorikiri de kakaekirenakute"

I can't hold them all by myself
    or
There are too many for me to hold alone

    Smile My take on "baito"

    *This* is your part-time job?

    How filthy!

    What a shock!

Would you guys ever consider doing this kind of job?

    Well, I guess I would.

    You would!?

Well, in any case, we've got enough money saved up now... we can go to the Battle Tour!

We can talk about battles to our hearts' content! Let's look forward to it!
