Default Hanine y Son Cubano - Baladi (Salsa Salsita)

    Dear everyone,

I'm desparately looking for a translation to the Arabic parts in this Cuban/Lebanese song by Hanine y Son Cubano. The Spanish parts are quite clear to me, but there are parts when Hanine sings in Arabic. I'm assuming about her hometown Beirut, but I'd like to know what she sings where...

Could anyone help? Here's a link to the song:

    Thanks loads for the trouble!!

    Hii Yrishka & Zahra2008
I'm not familiar with lebanese dialect, so there're couple of words that I couldn't figure out what it were, yet I think it'll be helpful

    Arabic lyrics:

    غنِّي شروقي وعتابا
    عندنا أبو الظرف/الزلف
    و*** جانا
    *** لضيعتنا
    والمواسم عالجنى
واليوم بدي صوتي جسر بين بيروت وهافانا

    spanish lyrics

    يا بيروت يا بلدي

    spanish lyrics

    دنيتنا ضيعة
    كل الناس ولاد العم
    ضحكتنا ضايعة
    بحروب بدول الشقا والهم
    ما تشوفوا الفوارق
    ما توقفوا عَ المفارق
    كل الناس ولاد العم
    وموحدنا لون الدم
    وموحدنا لون الدم
    وموحدنا لون الدم

    spanish lyrics

    هيهــات يأبو الزلوف
    عيني يا مولاية
ما احلى صباح الورد عَ نبعة الميه

    spanish lyrics

واليوم بدي صوتي جسر بين بيروت وهافانا

    -----------------------------------

    Transliteration & Translation

    ghanny shru2y w 3ataba*
    sing shru2y & 3ataba

    2andna Abu zurf\zulf
we have Abu zurf [Abu zurf's our guest]

    *** jaana
    *** came to us

    *** ladai3tna
    *** to our small village

    w lmawasem 3aljana
and seasons [crops] are about to be harvested

w lyaum baddy sawty jeser ben Bairut w Havana
and today I want my voice to be a bridge between Beirut & Havana

    ya Bairut ya baladi
    Oh Beirut, Oh my country

    Denyetna dai3a
our world is a small village

    kell ennas wulad el3am
    all people are cousins [relatives]

    de7ktna daai3a
    our laugh is lost

    b7rob ebdul esha2a w lham
by wars in countries of misery & grief

    ma tshufu lfaware2
do not see [look at] differences

    ma twa2fu 3al mafare2
do not stop at crossroads [keeping people apart]

    kell ennas wulad el3am
    all people are cousins [relatives]

    w mwa77edna laun eddam
and we are united by blood color

    hayhat ya Bu zluf**
    hayhat ya Bu zluf

    3eny ya mwlayah**
    3eny ya mwlayah

    ma 7la sabaa7 el ward 3a nab3et el mayya
How beautiful is the rosy morning by the water spring!

w lyaum baddy sawty jeser ben Bairut w Havana
and today I want my voice to be a bridge between Beirut & Havana

sorry for the rough translation, I made it in hurry :$ .. may other members, esp. those familiar with lebanese dialect, modify and correct it

    ----------

    * shru2y is kinda colloquial poetry and so is 3ataba.
** it's hard for me to translate these expressions, i think it's kinda refrains. like ya leyl .. ya 3en in Egyptian and many Arabian songs as well.

I know El~Egipcio did most of the work but I'd like to add in my contribution and clarify some of what he missed and maybe correct a thing here or there:

Shru2i (shru'ii) and 3ataba ('Ataba) are to forms of Lebanese folklore.. so is Mejana.. so the song goes like:

    Transliteration & Translation

    ghanny shru2y w 3ataba*
    sing shru2y & 3ataba

    2andna Abu zurf\zulf
we have Abu zurf [Abu zurf's our guest]

    Oo Mejana
And we also have Mejana (Lebanese folklore song mode)

    Oo il Ouf ladai3tna
And the Ouf (A form of sounding out excitment.. Like "Oppa" in Greek) reached our little village

    w lmawasem 3aljana
and seasons [crops] are about to be harvested

w lyaum baddy sawty jeser ben Bairut w Havana
and today I want my voice to be a bridge between Beirut & Havana

    ya Bairut ya baladi
    Oh Beirut, Oh my country

    Denyetna dai3a
our world is a small village

    kell ennas wulad el3am
    all people are cousins [relatives]

    de7ktna daai3a
    our laugh is lost

    b7rob bduwal esha2a w lham
by wars in countries of misery & grief

    ma tshufu lfaware2
do not see [look at] differences

    ma twa2fu 3al mafare2
do not stop at crossroads [keeping people apart]

    kell ennas wulad el3am
    all people are cousins [relatives]

    w mwa77edna laun eddam
and we are united by blood color

    hayhat ya Bu zluf**
hayhat ya Bu zluf (This is a refrain from Lebanese folk.. It's like she's calling out to Abu Il Zuluf, reminiscing about old times)

    3eny ya mwlayah**
    3eny ya mwlayah (Another refrain)

    ma 7la sabaa7 el ward 3a nab3et el mayya
How beautiful is the rosy morning by the water spring!

w lyaum baddy sawty jeser ben Bairut w Havana
and today I want my voice to be a bridge between Beirut & Havana
