Default Instrumental Christmas song from 60s-70s

This song may not even be a Christmas song, but it was played extensively on A.M. radio in the Buffalo area in the late 60s-early 70s at Christmas time. The verse went like this (played by strings or some other light-sounding instrument)s. This was very perky and spritely, almost like skipping: da-da, da-da, daaah, da,da,da,da, da; da-da, da-da, daaah, da,da,da,da,da; da-da, da-da, daaah, da,da,da,da,da. (the last of the three groups was lower)

Here are the notes for the verse:

    G E G E G E F G F E

    F D F D F D E F E D

    E C E C E C C B C D C

The chorus was much more flowing, like a graceful ice skaker: daaaah, daaaah, daaaah, daaaah; daaaah, daaaah, daaaah, daaaah; daaaah, daaaah, daaaah, daaaah; daaaah, daaaah, daaaah, daaaah. This was played by the brass section. Don't have the notes yet.

Then, back to the verse. There were other parts that escape me now. This is driving me crazy and I would appreciate the help. Thanks!

Would it be possible for you to "mimick" that sound with your tongue, etc and post it to http://www.zshare.net/ ??

Then copy and paste the url here that so more of us can take a stab at it.

I think the song you're thinking of is Jingo Jango

If it wasn't "Jingo Jango" try this one... My own search for an old 1960s instrumental version of "Jingle Bells" brought me to this thread, so I'll suggest it since it sounds similar to your description. The one I finally tracked down is "Jingle Bells" by Hollyridge Strings. I don't know what the notes are but the rest of your description seems to match this piece. Here is a current link I found on youtube:

The OP for the youtube link says "From the 1965 Capitol LP Christmas Favorites. Arranged and Conducted by Stu Phillips."

I remember my parents had the album and it was all in this style, no vocals that I can recall.
