This song may not even be a Christmas song, but it was played extensively on A.M. radio in the Buffalo area in the late 60s-early 70s at Christmas time. The verse went like this (played by strings or some other light-sounding instrument)s. This was very perky and spritely, almost like skipping: da-da, da-da, daaah, da,da,da,da, da; da-da, da-da, daaah, da,da,da,da,da; da-da, da-da, daaah, da,da,da,da,da. (the last of the three groups was lower)
Here are the notes for the verse:
G E G E G E F G F E
F D F D F D E F E D
E C E C E C C B C D C
The chorus was much more flowing, like a graceful ice skaker: daaaah, daaaah, daaaah, daaaah; daaaah, daaaah, daaaah, daaaah; daaaah, daaaah, daaaah, daaaah; daaaah, daaaah, daaaah, daaaah. This was played by the brass section. Don't have the notes yet.
Then, back to the verse. There were other parts that escape me now. This is driving me crazy and I would appreciate the help. Thanks!
