ana ma bafhamsh ... and ana mish fahma both mean i dont understand.... so is it ok to use them interchangeably or is each one specific to a certain context?

I did not think about it , it is just the music of the letters (the beginning of the verb)..I guess:
    Takol , te2dar , teshrab , ta3raf…, I can not put a rule here

Imagine that you found a reckless like that !

You always put (sh) for denying with verbs :
Ma a3rafsh (I do not know) , ma akaltesh (I did not eat)
Ma shafetsh (she did not see) , ma tabakhosh (they did not cook)
Ma wasalnash (we did not arrive)

We use mesh (or mosh) with adjectives
Mesh taweel (not tall) , mesh 3aiez (not wanting) , mesh shaief (not seeing)

    As lovelymirabela said :
A7eb ashrab shay ..I would like to drink tea (someone asked you : what would you like to drink?)
ba7eb ashrab shay ..I love drinking tea (general fact)

mixing in use between both of them is not a big deal
