Need help recognize a song

Ok, this is a long shot.
For ten years ago I was traveling through the US, and on the way I bought a CD, I can't remember which one, and I have no idea who playd on it. But I remember the sound to one of the songs, that keept on playing through the country. The singer was humming parts of the chorus. Something like this:
Dobi dobi dobi, dobi dobi dobi, and so on.

Heh, if someone has any idea of what I was listening to, I will be greatfull if you let me know.

"playing through the country" means only that I heard the song almost every day while we drow through the country..
This was in 2000, but the song is probably much older.. The vocalist var a male, for sure. Actually a silly song.
