Help finding late 90's song

Hello,

I caught this song on tape a long time ago and I have always wanted to know who the artist is and of course the name of the song.

I have tried all the taggers and electronic ways but I have never had a single hit on any of those systems.

I understand the lyrics "to the rest of the world I ain't got nothing to prove" and "the very best of me I can only give it to you" (I think) but Google comes up with nothing. Is the tape a compilation?

I remember this being on the radio back in either 98 or 99.
I got it on tape and honestly that is all I know of this song.

Of course the tape I have is pretty old and it's off the radio so quality is not very good but the song is very clear.

I have also Googled, Yahoo'ed, every lyric site every tagger, you name it I tried it.

:-)

I figured this site would be my best shot at hunting down this song title.
