Zahra, you did a beautiful job with the literal translation. I recognized the song hymn instantly. It was one of my favorites growing up.

Another thought... I have always sang it "de densa obscurida, me libero".... the words here say "liberto". Which is the best way? Musically, "libero" sounds better but I don't know if it is grammatically better.
