Default Stromae "Alors On Danse" - Fr-Eng please

Please, help me with these french translation.

    Alors on d… (X3)

    Alors on danse… (X9)
    Alors on chante
    Lalalalalala, Lalalalalala,
    Alors on chante
    Lalalalalala, Lalalalalala

    Alors on chante (x2)
Et puis seulement quand c’est fini, alors on danse.
    Alors on danse (x7)
    Et ben y en a encore (X5)

This is my first attempt at a translation, I just didn't want your request to go unnoticed. I did my best (as we all do), but I am nowhere near the fluency that this might require to properly translate. Maybe this will inspire some of our more astute to take hold of my errors and iron them out (as we say). I hope this is both remotely accurate, and at least somewhat helpful to you, friend.

    So we dance (x3)
He who say study, says work
Qui dit taf te dit les thunes, (These I don't understand)
He who says money, says expenses
He who says credit says credit (dealing with the nature of having credit)
He who says debt tells you to go usher
Yes, tells you to sit down in the sh*t
He who says love, says kids,
    Says always and says divorce

He who says close tells you of sadness because the problems do not come one by one
He who says crisis says to you the world, says third-world
He who says fatigue says wake again ignorant of it (literally deaf from the old, this is probably an expression that I am not familiar with not being a native french speaker.)
On we go, forgetting all of these problems

    And so we dance (x9)
And you tell yourself that this is as far as it will go because any worse would be death
And you believe in the end that you are finished with it, but there is more to come still! (not sure here)
Ecstasy says problem, the problems or the music. (not sure here, either)
This takes you for the ride, it grabs you by the head, and you pray for it to stop
But this is your body, this isn't heaven, so you speak more than you listen
And you cry out even louder as it persists

    So we sing
    Lalalalalala, Lalalalalala,
    So we sing
    Lalalalalala, Lalalalalala

    So we sing (x2)
And then only when this is over, so we dance
    And so we dance (x7)
    And it still goes on

    Smile taf et thunes

"taf" means to be at work or be working, and "thunes" is a unit of 5 francs, the old French currency

He who says (he is) tired, says waking up deaf .
Like having a hangover from going to a bar and still having the *beep* sounds from the loud music in your ears the next morning, feeling like an old man/lady.

    Wink comments...

Qui dit taf te dit les thunes
Who says work says cash. (Thunes is a slang expression for saying money, cash, dough in general )

Qui dit fatigue dit réveille encore sourd de la veille,
Who says tired, says woke up deaf from the previous night (more in the sense that you partied wild last night and your ears are still buzzing

    Smile Whole translation

I've looked around and made my own translation from what I've done myself and from what other people have said.

He who says 'study' says 'work',
he who says 'work' says 'money',
he who says 'money' says 'spend',
he who says 'credit' says 'debt',
he who says 'debt' says 'bailiffs',
    yes you're in deep ****.
He who says 'Love' says 'kids',
    says 'forever' and says 'divorce'.
He who says 'relatives' says 'loss', because problems never come by themselves.
He who says 'crisis' says to you 'world', says 'famine', says 'third-world'.
He who says 'fatigue' says 'wake up deaf from the night before'
(and) so we go out to forget all our problems
    (and) so we dance X9
and then you say it's over (this is as far as you'll go) because the only thing worse than this would be death.
when you finally think that you'll leave when there's more, well, more comes along.
ecstasy means a problem, problems or just the music,
it makes you trip it takes your head and then you pray for it to stop
but it's your body, it's not heaven and so you block your ears
and then you yell even louder and it persists...
    (and) so you sing
    and so you sing
and then, only when it's finished, then you dance.
    and then there's more.

Note: I've put the 'and' in brackets because while it's not strictly literal, it does keep both the general sense of the song and the rhythm intact.
It's a song about the consequences of your actions, and how we aren't always capable of controlling them.

    Hope this helps!

    Default My translation

Not literal, it is actually not so easy to translate because of use of slang and since the original french version is made to rhyme. Also there are some doube meanings, I however tried to use the most commen translation. This is what i ve come up with:

    So we dance (x3)...

He who says study also says work.
He who says work also says money.
He who says money also says expenses.
He who says credit also says borrow.
He who says loan also says debt-collector,
Yes, you will be sitting in the sh*t (you will be left with nothing)
He who says love also says children,
    Say forever and say divorce.
He who says friends/familly/close-ones, also says grief, because problems never come alone.
He who says crisis also says world(wide)
    Say famine and say 3th-world.
He who says exhaustion also says awake(or insomnic) still deaf(numb) from the day before.
So we go out to forget all our problems.

    So we dance (x9)...

And then you say no more (it´s over) because even worse would be to be deceased.
And when you think you will finally leave(get out) it continues and gets worse.
Ectasy says trouble, problems or music.
That makes you flip, loose your head and so you pray that it will stop.
But it is your body, it is not heaven, so you try to cover you ears,
and shout even louder but still it continues

So we sing: lalalala... lalalala (x2)...

    So we sing (x2)...

And then only when it is over ..... (here he pauses deliberaty leaving it open)

    So we dance (x8)...

And there is more to come. (x4)....

    Hope you like it.

Taf is also used in slang as: the action of inhaling the smoke from cigaret or joint.

but it's your body, it's not heaven and you're stop blocking your ears
and then you screaming louder and it lasts...
