* Valkyrie - female figures who decide who will die in battle. The valkyries bring their chosen to *** Valhalla (the afterlife hall of the slain) ruled over by the god Odin, where the deceased warriors become ** Einherjer (slain Viking warriors taken up to Valhalla by Valkyries to join the army of Einherjer and battle alongside the Gods).

Quite a difficult one, and there are typos in the lyrics, which are sometimes misleading. Where did you get the german lyrics from? They should be proof-readed.

Thanks for looking this over and finding my many mistakes. These lyrics came from the booklet with the CD. Old eyes, small print, a magnifying glass, a difficult font, carelessness and ignorance combined to produce the many mistakes. I added your corrections to the translation. I have a correct easy to read copy of the lyrics now. The differences I found are as follows:

Missing word , misspelling - Ein Weg als wenn er von dir gleitet
A way as if he slips from you.


Second one missing, mispelling - Wie sehr dein Herz dein Herz dich an ihnen hang
Doch nichts läßt deine Lippen noch entweichen
Keinen Augenkontakt läßt die Walküre zu

I know I found some of these mistakes in spelling before I finished but I didn't correct them in the German. I don't know how I forgot.

No, I have a good easy to read copy now and also she sings it as it is worded. I have reworded the translation now it reads:

The Rest sounds great, I like this translation.
The lyrics in Englisch make me think of the "Manowar"-Stuff, ie. this one:

A little remark has to be made to the sentence:

To understand the meanings of this words, especially "befreit", you have to read this:

In fact, this song is no song about the old warriors, but a political statment and a sign of sympathy for the german right-wing extremists.

It may not be grammatically correct but she sings komm and that is what the lyrics say so I prefer to leave it, but thanks for pointing it out.

To understand the meanings of this words, especially "befreit", you have to read this:

This line was a little puzzling to me. I managed to get the idea that it concerned foreigners ( non German speakers) that is why I translated it the way I did. Your link made the reference more clear. Thank you.

This song is in honor of her husband who died a few months ago after a long illness. The politics of her husband and herself lean to the right. So it is a statement of love for her husband as well as a statement of their political beliefs. I am not a political person so I just look to the other purpose for the song. In her eyes he was a warrior for the right and he was taken home. She loved him very much and this song, this way of looking at it, I believe lessens the pain of her loss. To me it paints a vivid picture that I like and anyone who knows the loss of a loved one will probably appreciate these lyrics. Thanks again for your help in fully understanding it.
