Song w/ bongo drums in beginning, something about life goes by so fast

Heard in store 3/18/10 in the evening... don't remember lyrics but just the drums and a repeated line that was about life going by fast

I keep hearing this song but I always miss the name on the tv. The lyrics go "operator we could see the colors but you'll never know, If I could ever see you again, operator we could live forever but you'll never know, if I can never see you again" ... or something along those lines (could/can, never/ever). It's a cool rock song and it's driving me insane!
