She's from Persian heritage but grew up in India. I've heard her sing in Farsi/Persian but it's possible that this song is in Urdu not Farsi. I've also read that she sometime "chants" rather than sing specific words from a comprehensible language. I followed your link and listened to it. It's a beautiful song; however, although there seem to be only a handful of words being uttered (and repeated), it's very difficult to make out what she is saying -- that is, if they are words and not chants.
