    Title: Charamata
Lyrics and music by Yiorgo Moukidis
    Sung by Notis
    CD: I notes ine 7psyches (1998 EMI)
    Track: 03 (on CD1)

    Link to song -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uc18f8xA1vY

Μη με ρωτάς γιατί τελειώσανε τα βράδια
don't ask me "why the nights ended"
μη με ρωτάς αν κ μετά θα σ' αγαπώ
don't ask me if I will love you afterwards
δώσ' μου να πιω από τα χέρια σου τα άγια
give me to drink, from your holly hands
δώσ' μου να πιω,να ξεδιψάσω,να σωθώ
give me to drink, to quench my thirst, to save myself

    Να 'ρθείς ξανά χαράματα
You should come again at daybrake
    χωρίς φωνές κ κλάματα
    with no yelling no crying
να 'ρθείς ξανά κ να μου πεις
You should come again and say to me
    το ''σ' αγαπώ'' κατάματα
"I love you" staring my eyes
    να 'ρθείς ξανά χαράματα
You should come again at daybrake

Ήσουν φωτιά μα κ παράδεισος για μένα
I considered you as fire, but also paradise
ήσουν στεριά, ήσουν και θάλασσα μαζί.
as land, and also as sea.
Mη λησμονείς τα λόγια σου τα περασμένα
    Don't forget your past words
που μού 'χες πει ''θα σ' αγαπάω μια ζωή''
when you've told me "I'll love you for a lifetime"

"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

Indeed, one of his selected very best songs ever. Also, a higly "kapsouriko" one.

    Notice the fifth remark: http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/653814-post3.html

Also, take a look here: http://www.slang.gr/lemma/show/kapsouris_10633:Ορισμοί_για_καψούρης

So, all in all, καψούρης is a man in love, but multiply that by at least ten times.

Καψούρικο is the adjective. So a καψούρικο song, is one suitable and/or recommended for καψούρηδες. And in turn καψούρηδες are people who are possesed by καψούρα.

Καψούρα is derived from the word "κάψα" (-ούρα being the magnifying suffix) which means "burning".

It equally applies for women, but it's less ordinary, since women are typically less expressive when showing their feelings.

Listen to this video as well:

Nowadays is also common to express:

    1)Someone who's stuck with his/hers lover (or even wife/husband)
For exaple: Don't bother inviting him to the bar, he always goes straight to his home, he's καψούρης with Helen.

2)A straight teasing flirt to a woman when she pass by in front of a man:
Phrase: My καψούρα! (Yeap there are still Greek "kamakia"!!!)

Bravo BleakHeart! the provided song was an excellent choice...
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

Το κατά δύναμιν - I do what I can

It's also interesting that there are more words with the same meaning, for example in Crete καψούρης is σεβνταλής and καψούρα is σεβντάς.

Love makes the world go around...
"I have fear for nothing and I have hope for nothing, I am, therefore, free."
