Question Solved: One day in the winter ........(nonsense rhyme)

I know most of the words of the first verse which was sung to me in England as a child in the 1940's
I also know the tune. The Lyrics follow.

One day in the winter it was snowing very hard.
Mother said the donkey's chilling in the yard.
    ........ missing line...
Bring him in the parlour and let him have a warm.
In he came, bit at mothers ear.
Thought it was a cabbage leaf and hit the chandelier.
Out went the lights, oh it was peculiar.
......someone ...married John instead of cousin Julia

...and that is all I know....
Can anyone fill in the blanks?

I think this is a traditional song.

Some lyrics and a youtube clip:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjdpnD4CQ_I

"Once we had a donkey, kept him in the yard....
One day in the winter, it was snowing hard.
Mother said the donkey must be cold out in the yard,
Bring him in the kitchen, let him have a warm.....
    2,3,4.
In came the donkey, bit me fathers ear,
took it for a cabbage leaf, and broke the chandelier.
Mother took a knofe, for to stick it in the ***,
Stuck it in me fathers head, and out went the gas."

    Weird rhyme!
    Funny though...

I think the greatest funniness is achieved by using the double meaning of a.s.s = 1) donkey [animal] and 2) the butt
It is not disclosed in which of the two she sticks her knife...

Thanks for the information....how did you know this....and how did you find the youtube video? The tune is very similar to the one I thought I new.
Am amazed how fast this happened.

Years ago My Grandad taught me this song/ Rhyme. My Grandad was from London, born and raised there.

Grandad always sang the song like this, this is how we know it in our family.

    One day in the winter
    snowing very hard
    daddy brought a donkey
    put it in the yard
mommy said it must be cold to be out in the storm
bring it in the kitchen, let it have a warm
    in came the ***
    bit me mummys ear
mistook it for a cabbage leaf
    kicked the Chandleare
    out went the gas
    then it came alight again
    mommy got a fork
to stick it in the ***
she stuck it up me fathers bum
    and out went the gas.
