I heard this song a few times in a department store a few years ago and couldn't make out the lyrics because the PA system was turned down too low, but I loved the tune and for at least years now have been trying to find out what song this is and who it's by. I've started humming the tune to friends and co-workers to try to figure this one out but still no luck. Please help!
All I remember anymore is this tune in the chorus. It was a female singer with a layered voice playing in it. Soft voice with kind of dreampop/electropop sound to the music. It's from either the late 90's or VERY early 00's (2000-2002).
There are actual lyrics in the tempo I'm humming in this sample, but I can't remember any of those lyrics.

The only thing your humming reminds me of is the female vocals in Busta Rhymes - Baby if you give it to me. LOL ....but... that doesn't really match your description. At all.
But it does bring me to a question -- the tune that you're humming, is that what melody a certain instrument was making? If so, was it a recognizable instrument? Some sort of violin-sounding synth? Guitar?
Can you by chance think of another song with a similar tempo, instrument selection, etc. ? Or.. well, anything else you can think of could help. -

The tune I "hummed" was actually where lyrics were being sung in that tempo. The song was kind of electro/dream-pop with a kind of soothing female vocal. I'd say most songs by Ivy would be close to what I've been looking for. Originally Posted by anickname
