Haunting songs list

I think it would be cool to have a thread where people post "success stories" of songs previously haunting their minds that they were eventually able to track down (with or without help). Maybe we could learn something about what makes a song elusive. ...or maybe just discover some good tunes.

Maybe this is the wrong place or just a bad idea, but I'd sure be interested to see someone's picks for songs that kept them up at night, slowly driving them mad during the day.

Here are some of mine. I'll include some basic description in case you feel like looking it up. I'm not one with skills in listing genres accurately but I'll give it a try.

Awesome! I just spent the last little while looking at all the songs. I couldn't get "Kyrah - Boomerang" to work, but all the rest were nice.

I first heard the song in a clip (slow-motion billiards). Of course, nothing was labeled. After some research, found the original clip and website. Then the music crediting Sascha Borovcanin (in German). Found his e-mail online and asked him for the song. Also found a CD with the song on it. I actually built him a website (now gone :[ ). He worked as a professional speaker for commercials, etc. Now the song is not hard to find at all, but back then...

The Lucy Nation - (discontinued album)
The group is famous for the song "Alright" which appeared on the Austin Powers movie soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAsg6JNEfi4) but it is / was difficult to find anything else by them because their album was ditched by the record label early on. Someone in Sweden (I think) was kind enough to send me one after I contacted him on Amazon. I registered the domain name "thelucynation.com" in case they ever want to make a come-back.

And, well, foreign language songs are always difficult for me to find for obvious reasons.

I found Laura non c'e by Nek (I only remembered the melody of the chorus) by... well, searching for "italian pop" on YT and then clicking on everything I found. After 2 hours or so I came across the right song. Very professional method

I took ages (weeks) to track down a short segment of instrumental music from "Gross Pointe Blank" - Joe Strummer - "War Cry" Despite extensive searches only a few, and I mean few, ever mentioned the song. [It was before the second Cd soundtrack was released for sale here in my parts. ] Finally I found a reference of yet another song used in the movie for me to investigate.

Around the web now, it seems there should have been an abundance of references to the song in the movie, at the time I was searching. Sort of "funny." :-|
