    Default Danziamo - Io, Carlo

Could someone please traslate this great song?
I'd really like to know what I am singing out loud all day
There are a couple of words and lines I understand but it's far from enough.
As long as it takes I'm going to do some more Danziamo

    Vorrei sapere
    che cosa fai stasera,
    vorrei sapere
    dove punta la tua vela,
    vorrei sapere qual è
    la direzione del tuo cuore,
    e quali sono le parole
    che vuoi sentirti dire,

    RIT
    (io non credo si possa,
    capire,
    che il senso di quest'attrazione
e allora che dire che fare,
    meglio danzare, vai
    danziamo danziamo,
    indossiamo sorrisi smaglianti
    ed abiti ricchi e sgargianti
    e danziamo,

    vorrei saperti
    sola e stanca,
    vorrei saperti
    triste ed affranta
    e bisognosa di me,
    di mille piccole attenzioni
    di innumerevoli effusioni,
    ma tu, sorniona ridi

    RIT
    (io non credo si possa,
    capire,
    che il senso di quest'attrazione
e allora che dire che fare,
    meglio danzare, vai
    danziamo danziamo,
    indossiamo sorrisi smaglianti
    ed abiti ricchi e sgargianti
    e danziamo,

    Sicuramente molto orecchiabile...
    Cosa pensate di questo testo?

    I don't believe it's possible
    to understand
what's the sense of this attraction
and thus (it's impossible to know) what to say, what to do,
it's better to dance, come on
    let's dance, let's dance
let's put on a dazzling smile
    and posh and flamboyant clothes
    and let's dance,
let's repeat the oldest ritual in the world and
    let's dance, let's dance
while showing ourselves the way we are not really
    and won't ever be
    won't ever be
    won't eveeeeeer be

    I'd like to see you
    alone and tired
    I'd like to see you
    sad and distraught
    and in need of me,
    of a thousand little details
    of innumerable displays of affection,
    but you laugh slyly

Yapp! It's on the Scusa, ma ti chiamo amore soundtrack! But I think (unfortunately) it wasn't used in the movie itself.

"Possa capire" is subjunctive and express a wish or a hope.
"spero tu possa capire la situazione" (I hope you could understand the situation")

"Si può capire" and "è possibile capire" are basically the same. They mean "it is possible to understand something".
"si può capire /"è possibile capire se il mio telefono è intercettato?" (is it possible to understand if my telephone is tapped?)
"Come è possibile capire/ come si può capire se piaci davvero ad un ragazzo?" (how can you tell if a guy really likes you?)
"non si può capire/ non è possibile capire del tutto un argomento così difficile se non lo si è studiato"
(you can't fully understand a subject so difficult if you didn't study it)
"-Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity..."
"-Actually, I'm planning to threaten you."

"Well, if you'll excuse me, I have work to do. Evil plots don't just make themselves, you know!"

Thanks a lot, but Citlalli has translated "io non credo si possa
    capire" into "I don't believe it's possible
to understand" I don't think it's subjunctive here or am I missing something? what I'm asking is what's the difference if we say "io non credo e possibile/si puo capire" ?

    Hi!

'Credere' is followed by subjunctive because it expresses incertitude or a personal perception: 'non credo sia vero', 'credi sia possibile?' Going back to the sentence here: 'non credo si possa capire'='I don't believe it can be understood/ it's possible to understand'.

And your second sentence 'si puo capire' is not following 'credere', so there's no need for subjunctive. However, when translated into english this goes lost because english has its own rules; thus, 'si può capire'='it can be understood/it 's possible to understand.'

I hope this answers your question. I'm not very good at explaining anyway; so maybe Ligeia or somebody else will be able to give a clearer answer.

    Hi again!

I guess you mean 'si potrebbe capire', right? First, 'potrebbe' is condizionale, not subjunctive ('potreste' is condizionale too, for the pronoun 'voi'). And it translates as 'it could'.

'Non credo si possa capire'=I don't believe it can be understood/ I don't believe it's possible to understand.
'Non credo si potrebbe capire'=I don't believe it could be understood/ I don't believe it would be possible to understand.

And yes, 'non credo è' is wrong: non credo sia vero/ giusto/ bello/ possibile, etc.

one more thing "non credo sara possibile" is wrong? 'cos I was reading Zero assoluto - per dimenticare 's lyric & it has something like "credo forse partiro" in it so...

"Non credo sarà possibile" is correct if you're talking about something that will (or will not) happen in the future.
(do you think we could go to the sea this weekend?)
"mi dispiace, non credo sarà possibile" (I'm sorry, I don't think it will be possible).
"-Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity..."
"-Actually, I'm planning to threaten you."

"Well, if you'll excuse me, I have work to do. Evil plots don't just make themselves, you know!"
