It seems its a South Florida artist named 'Shawn Elliot'

His website is Shawn-elliot.com - new album sounds great!

all the whining - every other day - need the song, need the song, need the song - and not even a thanks to everyone who helped, or an acknowledgment when the answer came....

for the others who were interested, tho - the artist emailed me to confirm the song was his, offered to send an mp3 of it, and just seemed like a real nice guy.
