    Âshegh Shodam

    I fell in love,

    âh ey khodâ âshegh shodam

Oh my Lord, I fell in love,

    az kâreh del ghâfel shodam

I became ignorant of what my heart does with me,

man ham deli divâneh peydâ kardeh am

Even I, I have found my heart to be insane

    bâ didanash afsoon shodam

I was enchanted as I saw her,

    dar âsheghi majnoon shodam

In my love affair I became the renown lover " majnoon",

man ham deli virâneh peydâ kardeh am

Even I, I have found my heart to be residing in ruins,

    minâlam az gham hamcho néy

I moan out of pain like a flute,

    parvâneh boodan tâ beh kéy

For how long should I act like a butterfly [so in love with a candle revolving around it selflessly],

    mîsoozam az eshghat begoo

I am burning in the fire of your love, tell me,

    parvâneh boodan tâ beh kéy

for how long should I act like a butterly,

    az ashkeh man séyli ravân
    My tears are flooding,

    daryâyeh mehnat bi karân

The ocean of my sorrow has no borders in vastness,

    jânam beh lab âmad konoon

I am already giving up on life altogether,

    soozad marâ eshgheh nahân

The secret love of mine is burning me from within,

    âh éy khodâ âshegh shodam

Oh my Lord, I fell in love,

    az kareh del ghâfel shodam

I became so ignorant of what my heart does,

    toofân zadeh ghâyegh shodam

I became a boat threatened by the storm

    tâ eshgh râ lâyegh shodam

So that I became worthy of love,
