    Non Voglio Mica La Luna

    Vorrei due ali d’aliante
    Per volare sempre più distante
    E una baacca sul fiume
Per pulirmi in pace le mie piume
    Un grande letto sai
Di quelli che non si usan più
    Un giradischi rotto
    Che funzioni però
    Quando sono giù un po’.

    Non voglio mica la luna
    Chiedo soltanto di stare
    Stare in disparte a sognare

I don't want the moon at all

    Vorrei due ali d’aliante
    Per volare sempre più distante
    I'd like two wings like a glider's
    to fly always farther away

    E una baacca sul fiume
Per pulirmi in pace le mie piume
and a boat on a river
to be able to clean my feathers in peace

    Un grande letto sai
Di quelli che non si usan più
    a big bed, you know
one of those that are not used anymore

    Un giradischi rotto
    Che funzioni però
    Quando sono giù un po’.
    a broken record-player
    one that still works though
    whenever I'm down a bit

    Non voglio mica la luna
    Chiedo soltanto di stare
I don't want the moon at all
    I'm only asking to stay

    Stare in disparte a sognare
E non stare a pensare più a te
    to stay aside and dream
and not to think about you anymore

    Non voglio mica la luna
    Chiedo soltanto un momento
I don't want the moon at all
I'm only asking for a moment

    Per riscaldarmi la pelle
    Guardare le stelle
    to warm up my skin
    and gaze at the stars

and to have more time, more time for myself
with my eyes full of wind
without realising where my feelings are

    Tra i nostri rami intrecciati
    Troppi inverni sono già passati
    among our entwined branches
many winters have gone by already

Io vorrei defilarmi per i fatti miei
    Io saprei riposarmi ma tu
    Non cercarmi mai più.
I'd like to sneak away from my deeds
I'd know how to settle down, but you
don't you look for me never again

    Non voglio mica la luna
    Chiedo soltanto di andare
I don't want the moon at all
    I'm only asking to go

    Di andare a fare l’amore
    Ma senza aspettarlo da te
    to go and make love
but without expecting it from you

Thank you very much! How did you learn Italian so well?

Hi! I studied it for a couple of years and I try to read, listen and speak it as much as I can -although I must confess it's not a lot, specially in the last few years However, what really helps me is that my first language (Spanish) is very similar to Italian
