so, to play safe.. to congratulate bday to a woman would be :

"Kol 3am o inti ib alf 5eir, winshallah 3i2bal meet alf sine" ?

( dont want to make a fool of myself )

and how this would be expressed in dialect, any dialect?

and if I use only 7aithu (in my dict it says that 7aithu can indiquate whereto as well) do I have to say fihi as well?

ila ma (...) fihi doesn't make sense no?

dhahabtu ila ma gharabat fihi sh-shamsu? Or would that be poor Arabic ???

I even forgot what the sentence was
you departed to where/towards where the sun rushes to blur the houses.

Fi means in, I think it depends on the sentence you intend to say. That means in your sentence you don't need to add fihi.
Ila ma: As I told you before dear إلامَ is question form, beside it's used to ask about to what direction: إلام تنظر what are you looking at، إلام ترمي What do you mean?
So you can't usee ila ma
ذهبت/ رحلت إلى حيث تغرب الشمس

..... after thinking, I think you may have there options
    ذهبت الى حيث تغرب الشمس
ذهبت الى المكان الذي تغرب فيه الشمس
ذهبت الى حيث المكان الذي تغرب فيه الشمس
