Hello everybody,

now I have found this great forum - I'm a German who wants to learn Greek, because I love Greece and spend there some weeks every year. Especially I try to translate the lyrics of the songs that I like, but sometimes this is very difficult for me. So in this case: This song contains some words that are not to find in my dictionary and that I can not derive from other words, and there are other words that I can translate, but nevertheless they make no sense to me ...

Φύκια μπλεγμένα στα μαλλιά στο στόμα φύκια
Έτσι ως κοιμήθηκες για πάντα στα βαθιά
κατάστιχτη, πελεκημένη από σπαθιά
Διπλά φορώντας των Ίνκας τα σκουλαρίκια

Τhis is a very difficult song to translate because it has terminology used in the navy, but I will give it a go and others can correct me.

thank you very much - you did a very good job, and I can imagine that it was very difficult. Now I can see it all much clearer than before.

Does somebody know what this "Pissanello" means? In Wikipedia I found the Italian Renaissance painter Antonio Pisanello, that's all, but it makes no sense ...

Well Kavvadias used to have some posters of paintings in his cabin while travelling.
And as you can imagine posters use to wear during time....

I have to CONGRATULATE Zvezda for this one
but I'm not able to understand the lyrics even in Greek!
