Post Mathieu Edward- Je Veux Plus

Hi! Would someone please translate this song into English for me?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Merci Beaucoup!!!

    Refrain

    Ne m'en veux pas (comprends-moi)
    Ne m'en veux pas (comprends-moi)
Car tu sais cette histoire passera
    Ne m'en veux pas (comprends-moi)
    Ne m'en veux pas (comprends-moi)
Tu sais d'ici peu tu m'oublieras
    Ne m'en veux pas (comprends-moi)
    Ne m'en veux pas (comprends-moi)
Car tu sais cette histoire passera
    Paroles trouvées sur www.tictacflo.com
    Ne m'en veux pas (comprends-moi)
    Ne m'en veux pas (comprends-moi)
Tu sais d'ici peu tu m'oublieras

    I've lost heart
To give my heart as in the past
It's hard to turn the page
When you've loved someone this way

I don't picture myself in someone else's arms anymore
As long as nothing can happen with you
    I can't tell another girl
Any beautiful words when I don't feel like it

    Don't waste your time
    You'll find men
    Freer than me
    Freer than me
    Don't insist, as you see
    My wounds don't heal

    Chorus :
I don't wanna become attached anymore
I don't wanna become attached anymore
It felt like a slap to leaver her
I don't wanna become attached anymore
I don't wanna become attached anymore
It messed up my heart to leave her
I don't wanna become attached anymore
I don't wanna become attached anymore
It felt like a slap to leaver her
I don't wanna become attached anymore
I don't wanna become attached anymore
It messed up my heart to leave her

    Know that, in other circumstances,
I wouldn't have hesitated any second
    It's not against you
    But it's just bad timing

I can't manage to bury this love story
    It's stronger than me
    It's stronger than me
I'd like to get it out of my head
To get rid of it out of my thoughts

    I've lost heart
To give my heart as in the past
It's hard to turn the page
When you've loved someone this way

I don't picture myself in someone else's arms anymore

Any beautiful words when I don't feel like it

    Don't waste your time
    You'll find men
    Freer than me
    Freer than me
    Don't insist, cause you see
    My wounds don't heal

    Refrain

Don't bear me any grudge (understand me)
Don't bear me any grudge (understand me)
Cause you know, this love story will pass
Don't bear me any grudge (understand me)
Don't bear me any grudge (understand me)
You know, you'll forget me fairly soon
Don't bear me any grudge (understand me)
Don't bear me any grudge (understand me)

Don't bear me any grudge (understand me)

Hi, just a little question on grammar, I would like to ask how "J'veux plus m'attacher" becomes "I don't want to become attatched anymore"??
I thought Je veux plus meant "I want more"?

    Thanks again!! =)

The word "plus" is pretty special cause it can mean one thing and its perfect opposite, as to say "more" and "no more". It would be easier if we always said "ne...plus", but most of the time we're being lazy and we swallow up the "ne", as well as the "-e" in "je", so that "je ne veux plus" turns into "j'veux plus".

But, here again just "j'veux plus" would be confusing ("I want more" or "I don't want anymore"). Well, generally when "j'veux plus" is followed by a verb, it'll mean "I don't want to ??? anymore".

One more thing to tell "more-plus" and "no more-plus" apart is by listening to the way we pronounce it :
    - in "more-plus", you'll ALWAYS hear the "s" in the end, especially when followed by "de" or "d'-"
    - on the other hand, in "no more-plus", you won't hear the "s", unless it is followed by a vowel, and then it'll be pronounced "z".

    Ex. :
    "Je veux plus d'eau"
    => if pronounced "j'veux pluSS d'eau" = I want more water
    => if pronounced "j'veux plu d'eau" = I don't want anymore water

Hope I managed to make myself clear, I don't think I'm very good at explaining stuff >.<.
Don't hesitate to ask again, anyway ^^

    Wow that's quite interesting thanks!
So just to clarify something, if I wanted to say "I want more" I would say "J'veux plus" but if i wanted to say "I don't want anymore" would I say "Je ne veux plus" or "J'veux plus" as well?

And when you say that when "j'veux plus" is followed by a verb, it'll mean "I don't want to anymore", how would you differentiate between something like "I want more to eat" and "I dont want anymore to eat"?

Haha thanks very much for your time and help!!! =)

SORRY for asking so many questions but in "C'est plus fort que moi" and "Plus libres que moi" for "it's stronger than me" and "freer than me" the "s" weren't pronounced but it still meant "more than". Is it because the 'plus' was in front of an adjective? How would you express these two phrases to mean the negative?

THANKS so much for your help!!

Btw are you French or English cause you seem to be very fluent in both!! xD

You're just making me realize how insane French is XD ! (I'm French ^^)

So, "I want more" would be translated as "J'en veux plus" (with "plus" pronounced "pluSS"). As for "I don't want anymore", it'll be translated as "Je n'en veux plus" or, when talking fast, "J'en veux plus", with an "s" not pronounced in both cases.

You'll notice the use of "en", both in the affirmative and the negative phrase. It means "of it", and it's necessary when you're referring to a name. You wouldn't use it when referring to a verb.
    Ex:
    - "Tu veux toujours y aller ?" / "Do you still want to go there ?"
    - "Non, j'veux plus." / "No, I don't want anymore."
    - "Tu veux de l'eau ?" / "Do you want water ?"
    - "Non, j'en veux plus." / "No, I don't want anymore (of it)."

As for your exemple with eat, it would be :
"I want more to eat" = Je veux manger "pluSS"
"I don't want anymore to eat" = Je ne veux pas manger "pluSS"
You'll notice that we pronounce the "s" in the second phrase, because the pattern here is "ne...pas...plus", and not simply "ne...plus". Same difference as in "not more" and "no more", in English.

But, usually we would say something like "Je veux encore manger/Je ne veux plus manger" ("I still want to eat/I don't want to eat anymore) or "J'ai encore faim/Je n'ai plus faim" ("I'm still hungry"/"I'm not hungry anymore").

As for the adjectives, it depends on whether you'll need to specify if "plus" means "more" or "no more".
In both verses here, there is "plus [adjective] que", which imply a comparison. Then, you don't have to pronounce the "s" (except when in front of a vowel, then it'll sounds like a "z"), because it's obvious that it means "more than".

On the other hand, you MAY say "pluSS" if you absolutely need to specify that you mean "more", or if you want to insist. I wouldn't really make it as a rule though, cause it could also sound strange in some cases.
    For instance :
"C'est dommage, il (n')est plus [pronounced "plu"] beau" / "Too bad, he's not handsome anymore"
"Au contraire, moi, je le trouve plus [pronounced "pluSS"] beau" / "On the contrary, I think he's more handsome".
So, pronouncing the "s" in the second phrase isn't exactly good French, but it's possible to say so. Although the "au contraire" will obviously mean that you think otherwise, and therefore "plus" will mean "more" in opposition to "not anymore".

So, to mean the negative, the two precedent verses would be :
"Ce n'est pas plus fort que moi" (=good french) or "C'est pas plus fort que moi"
    &
    "Pas plus libres que moi"

    I hope it's not too confusing :/
