    Merci barcha-barcha 3ala jawabikum, ya Larosa l-3aziza 3layna !

The much gifted, super-talented and very handsome Nour Chiba made a real masterpiece of mezoued of this song.

Previously I've heard this song sung also by Amina Fakhet, but this summer I've first heard Nour Chiba's exciting and powerful interpretation of this song on Beur FM (I think it is included in his new album 2010), I was overwhelmed by the beauty of this song, and of course wanted to know more about this song and its translation.

As I'm just the beginner in al-lugha 3arabiyya, I can understand just some lines ("yama ya ghalia - oh, my precious..."). Also as far as I can see, it was written and sung in darija tonsiyya, n'est-ce pas ? (and not in fossha - classical arabic).

Concerning links : I couldnot find any version of this song on youtube/dailymotion:P( (plz someone upload it , that's why I've provided a mp3raid download and preview link.

I've made some additional research on this song, and that's all I could find

i like nour chiba, and he makes Mezoued look beautiful ,yeah it is tunisian dialect, so here is my attempt

    yamma ya ghaliya
    Oh my precious mother*
    ma na7sibak khawwan
    i've never thought you're a betrayer
    ma na7sibak khawwan
    i've never thought you're a betrayer

*here he is not accusing his mother to be a betrayer, but he is expressing suffer by calling his mother

    7anna ya ghaliya
    My precious nanny
ya chmatét el 3edyan fik we fiyya
how bad enemies glee at your and my misfortune
    ma na7sibak khawwan
    i've never thought you're a betrayer

    walla ma kadouni
i swear it didn't deceive me
settin darja fel 3ala ma kadouni
sixteen steps in highness,it didn't deceive me
    fel 3ala ma kadouni
    in highness,it didn't deceive me
ma kadeni ken el kelam eddouni
only bad words that deceived me
    ma na7sibak khawwan
    i've never thought you're a betrayer

    wallah ma nejamata
i swear of God i couldn't endure it
    7obbak w sahr ellil manajamata
your love and sleepless nights,i couldn't endure
    7obbak we sahr ellil
    your love and sleepless nights

    lazzouni 3ala eddokhan
they made me use the tobacco
    ana t3allamta
and i learned how to smoke
    ma na7sibak khawwan
    i've never thought you're a betrayer

    ennejoum yghibou
    the stars will turn off
    law ken na7ki lennejoum yghibou
if i tell the stars my story they will turn off
    ennejoum yghibou
    the stars will turn off
el ba7r yensha7 we semar ychibou
the sea will dry and the young will have grey hairs

ya salaaaaam, this is really great !!! Chokrane barcha-barcha 3alik, ya Larosa ! I'm very happy to finally fully understand the meaning of this song, the lyrics are really very sad and highly dramatic, as the music itself too.
