This is a bulgarian movie - "Time for violonce"
Turkish soldiers arrive in the Rodops (bulgarian mountain). They want to force the bulgarians, who live there to accept the islam.Karaibrahim is one of the soldiers, who was kidnapped from the village as a boy and now he leads them.Village people from the valey decide to hide the kids and the women.Karaibrahim stays in the house of Siuleyman aga and wants from him to colaborate. Then he puts on fire the village Chepino.Bulgarians run and hide high in the mountains.
Manol, who is one of the most notable and brave men in the village propose to Siuleyman aga to take a lead and to help bulgarians to protect themselves against the turkish. But Siuleyman is affraid,he can't opposite of the sultan. The tops men in the village make a meeting in the house of Siuleyman aga and tell Karaibrahim, that they'll never kneel and never will become islamic. So,then it's "time to violonce".
This is what is talked about in the movie.

Here's the story of our "relationships" with Turkey:

Some versions leave out the lyrics about the boy not having built a home, yet, and some version add the the girl doesn't have presents to present to in-laws yet, as part of her dowry.

Here's a Romanized transcription and translation of the version we dance to, that I worked up a few years ago:

    Devojko, mari, hubava, devojko,
Sipni mi vince, da pija, devojko,
    Vince i bela rakija, devojko.

Da pijem da se na pijem, devojko,
Balnosu da si, kazhe be, devojko,
    Chiesu balno po mnozhko, devojko?

    Junache ludo, i mlado, junache,
    Moesu balno po mnozhko, junache,
Che imam ruba da pravja, junache.

    Moesu balno po mnozhko, devojko,
Che imam sluzhba da sluzha, devojko.
    A nemam s koshta gradena, d/j.

    Moesu balno po mnozhko, d/j,
/Che nema da se zomime, d/j./2

    O pretty girl
    Pour me some wine
    Wine and white rakija

    So we can drink
    Tell me your problem.
    Whose problems are greater?

    Crazy hero, and young,
    My problem is greater.
Because I have clothes (a Hope Chest) to make.

    My problem is greater, girl,
Because I have (military) duties to perform.
    Because I don’t have a home built.

    My problem is greater.
Because never will we be together.

The song in the spot above is not "Devoiko Mari Hubava".
And the original movie's title is "Time of separation" (Време разделно).

    Here it is:

So I've been singing Bulgarian music for about 4 years, and I'd heard about this movie from one of my choir member friends. It's long, it's horrific, and it's insightful. The whole thing is in varying quality in I think 32 parts on youtube. There are two sections to the movie, Parts I and II.
