    Another one by L.N. I don't understand. A big surprise, isn't it?

The reason is in the body, in the line? What line? The telephone line? The body line? Both? And who is looking suspiciously?!?! At what? People are looking doutfully at her body? )) Can't think of anything more intelligent. ))

κι η απουσία στα δίχτυα με δίχτυα να ψάχνει
    να βρει το γιατί.
The absence in the telepfone net maybe? And then the second δύχτια - με δύχτια να ψάχνει - like with nets for butterflies?

μου 'χες γράψει πώς και τι - you explained everythnig, gave me the details?

    Hi there,

I translated it for you. I hope it makes sense now. lol your comments are so funny. The statements you got baffled by are metapharical.. no one is looking doubtfully at her body.. and then again if i was you i wouldnt look for logic in all the songs.. after all lyrics accompany music its not like poetry though i think your version of the lyrics is actually much more enjoyable than the original lyrics x

    Thank you very much!
I would surely never arrive by myself to the idea that it is the body AT the line we are talking about and that στα δίχτυα με δίχτυα means net by net.
Besides I was sure that Και γύρω η νύχτα μια νύχτα σα νύχτα να πέφτει
και να 'ναι πρωί meant that it seemed to her that night was falling around while it was actually morning.
The one thing I still don't understand is why κοιτάνε is in plural while you say that it refers to her body, that is, it is her body who is looking according to your translation. Shouldn't it be κοιτά then?

Haha, don't say that, the divine providence will pour over both of us in the form of Amethystos-es. )))

Feistica you have to understand that Greek and English are two different languages and you can not expect literal translation with exact grammer quite simply because what makes sense in greek would make no sense in english. For example, 'Πήρα να σου πω φιλιά' which i translated as ' i called to send you kisses' would literally translate as 'i got to say to you kisses' which would not make sense at all.

And you shouldnt look at the sentences as if they have nothing to do with eachother. READ THE WHOLE THING!!. what is the sentence before the one you questioned me about??????
Κι όχι δεσμοί, χωρισμοί, της ζωής πειρασμοί

looking in a leering manner or lets say looking suspicious to make it easier for you to understand!
there he is saying 'relationships, separations, life temptations etc. ofcourse then the verb following would naturally be PLURAL!!

στα δίχτυα με δίχτυα - gosh!!! I dont know how else to put this one... imagine a spider making a web now imagine the 'absence' (as in missing, gone, not there) making the webs in each one looking for the reasons why...

kαι γύρω η νύχτα μια νύχτα σα νύχτα να πέφτει και να 'ναι πρωί.- about this one you r gonna have to call the lyricist to see if they can give you a deeper meaning..

The songs will not teach you correct grammer.. (im not talking about this song.. i mean generally) for example think about english songs do the lyrics have correct grammer? NO! To learn good grammer and to understand meaning of proverbs you need to use grammer books.. not allthelyrics/forum. Sorry for being honest!!

As I already have mentioned in the other threads the "divine providence" is only Nikolakopoulou's !

HER BODY asks her to call him!

But after all those failed attempts to contact with him,
she feels too ashamed of herself.
And since there's is noone present to acknowledge her passion and her gealusy,
she VISUALIZE the only two "objects" that know the truth
and these are the phone line and her body (the medium and the cause).

If we split the phrase we MAY find the meaning

    κι η απουσία στα δίχτυα
after not answering to her calls it's obvious that his ABSENCE is a reality
    in her feelings' nets

με δίχτυα να ψάχνει να βρει το γιατί

She spreads the nets, in other words she sets traps, she tries to analyze the facts
and find the reason of his ABSENCE

    .
Yes that's the first meaning, but she also tries to describe that her " martyrdom"
    lasted all night long.

And I think that the fact of night being mentioned 3 times in arow is probably
    an effect of song's tempo.
I assume that "Και γύρω η νύχτα, σα νύχτα να πέφτει" would describe
    Nikolakopoulou's thoughts pretty well.
But can you imagine the vocal GAP ?
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

Believe me, I read the whole thing something like 8 thousand times but it didn't help a lot. So the relationships and so on are the subject of κοιτάνε? I didn't consider them as such because they are negated and they belong to a clause which is something like seven kilometres away from the predicate, but since I don't have my own interpretation, I'll put my trust in yours.

I suggest that the lyrics of L.N. are accompanied by explanatory booklets with the "what the author actually meant" type of contet and I suggest that the booklets in questions are edited by you, whatever you may say. The plebs, in the person of me, strongly needs them.

Nope! I've got no grey hair and I shave myself every morning

The thing that I know about prophets is that, like the VAST MAJORITY of the people,
I can only recognize them, toooo many years after their existence.
When they're alive we just DON'T UNDERSTAND them, at all!

Nikolakopoulou's lyrics are made for the masses! People use to sing them.
But they're also outhere for those who want to discuss them.
Since our lives are not the same as Lina's, we have a tiny chance of being right.
