- Andrew Bird. he has amazing songs and quite alot really with violins. one of my fav songs by him is 'Fake Palindromes'

Check out "Saddest Sunset" by Lili Hayden. I think its a cello, not a violin but figured I'd throw it out there because its in the "string" family.

Not English, but russian. Assiya Ahat is a pop singer and violinist and her songs have nice beat. Look up the channel in youtube to find more songs. My favourite "Lonely Heart"

I found a link to this while searching for lists of songs with violin in them, I'm shocked no one has mentioned "this is a lie" by the cure, at least the palmer remix has *lovely* violin through-out.

You can try Loreena McKennitt, especially "The old ways" and "Skellig", or Mark Lanegan's songs "Carnival" and "House a home"... then there are groups like Chieftains and Altan,
oh, and the last winner of the eurovision contest was a violin-filled song, I think the title was "fairytale".

Modena City Ramblers use violins, then there are Sorotan Bele and Lauri Tähkä, but none of these sing in english.

hey skillet is a christian band that uses violin in almost all of their songs but some amazing songs of theirs with violin are camatose, the last night, awake and alive, collide and some others i cant remember
