    Talking Niña de tus ojos - a different interpretation

    I was told that Niña de tus ojos was not literally "girl of your eyes" but something like "apple or jewel of your eyes"... this can apply to men and women! It refers to a pure essence... that is how Jesus sees all believers! I will double check with some folks down in Nicaragua... stay tuned!

    This is a wonderful song...check this video with subtitles... it agrees with this interpretation...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_S7kDw3EPE

    The transalation for the "Nina de tus ojos" I find to be awesome....but the word apple throws it off.....I wonder if we can subsitute it.....It is an awesome song. I love it...but have yet to sing it at our church due to the transalation.
    Be blessed. AMen

    I could not find other translations from folks in Guatemala or Nicaragua... the phrase in American English "apple of one's eye" refers to a position of high regard....and to me daughter of one's eye just isn't universal enough for me - Jesus is saying this to all!

    Maybe, it's just me...but I feel that transalating some songs.....one looses the essence of it. I am currently looking for the transalation of the song: MI ANHELO

    //Mi Anhelo
    es buscar de dia y noche
    del amor y la ternura
    de tu espiritu Senor//

    //En tu presencia
    hay plenitud de gozo
    en tu presencia
    delicias a tu diestra
    por siempre y para siempre
    yo me gozo en tu presencia//

    Pls Help...thx

    //Mi Anhelo..............................I long to
    es buscar de dia y noche........search night and day
    del amor y la ternura..............for the love and tenderness
    de tu espiritu Senor//.............that comes from your spirit Lord

    //En tu presencia.......................In Your presence
    hay plenitud de gozo.................joy is plentiful
    en tu presencia..........................in Your presence
    delicias a tu diestra...................delights at your right hand
    por siempre y para siempre.......forever and ever
    yo me gozo en tu presencia//....I rejoice in Your presence

    Question mi anhelo

    Thanks.....have you heard the song?

    It's beautiful actually one of my favorites.

    how does this sound:

    hay plenitud de gozo: there is fullness of joy?

    No I can't say I've ever heard this song. I can tell from the excerpt, though, that it's nice. Instead of "there is fullness of joy" I would say "there is plenty of joy". I hope that helps. =)

    I'm going to bring it to worship rehearsal on friday.
    Looking for kind of an upbeat but simple worship song.
    Any ideas.

    I'm going to give it a try.... since I have "church lingo" down.

    //Mi Anhelo
    es buscar de dia y noche
    del amor y la ternura
    de tu espiritu Senor//

    My desire
    is to seek day and night
    the love and tenderness
    of your spirit, Lord

    //En tu presencia
    hay plenitud de gozo
    en tu presencia
    delicias a tu diestra
    por siempre y para siempre
    yo me gozo en tu presencia//

    In your presence
    There is fullness of joy,
    (yes.... this is an appropriate phrase in Christian lingo)
    delight at your right hand,
    I will find joy in your presence
    for ever and ever

    How about "Every Move I Make I Make in You"?

    If you post in the Christian Forum, you may get more "hits" on this.

    Default Try it in Spanish!

    I think that sometimes translation gets in the way of the true meaning - I believe that this song was intended to be sung in Spanish! By the way, where is your church?

    Love the new song you have requested translation for!

    I agree with you on transalating some songs.....I usually end up changing the words in order not to loose the feel of the song. My church is located in Springfield, Ma. I am the director of the worhip ministry. My pastor likes to have worship done bilingual...for we are a bilingual church. Sometimes it can be tough.....but not impossible. All things are possible through Christ.

    Default "La niña de tus ojos"

    This expression in spanish is associated to anatomical inner part of the eye called pupil or in spanish "pupila" and is used to say that someone or somthing is very, very, very delicate an valuable for us in a very tenderness manner... In this case for God.
    This phrase it´s taken from the spanish translation of the Bible Reina Valera (1960), of Psalm 17:8 "Guárdame como a la niña de tus ojos..." New Century Version says "Protect me as you would protect your own eye"...
