i always couldn't understand this song's name cause if it is love to the mexican,it shouldn't have been la mexicana as it regards to a male, i thought may be it is love from a mexican but you again did your best.Your translation of it perfectly matches with the context.Normally a la means to the and sometimes from(a la carte-from cart) so it has more meanings

Have you ever heard of the dishes called "Arroz a la Mexicana" or "Huachinango a la Veracruzana"? I can give you the recipes if you want
and it's not used only for food... there's also for example a famous Italian film by Vittorio De Sica whose name in Spanish is "Matrimonio a la Italiana", do you know it?

mmhhh... sort of... it just expresses that idea of doing something in a certain manner; the only thing to remember is that you always use the female ending (ie "a" ), you know "a la Francesa , a la Turca , a la Colombiana , etc." Never ever use the male ending "o" for this sort of thing!
