Default Guarana Noche En Vela (translated to english)

    Noche En Vela
    Guarana

    Cuanto tiempo he de esperar

    Yo solo quiero estar contigo

    No me importara esperar
    Por tu recuerdo
    Vuelan gaviotas

    Yo solo quiero estar contigo

    Night Awaken
    Guarana

How long do I have to wait
To having you here with me
    Under the Moonlight
    Kiss your olive skin

How many years are to come?
    Not rocking you
    As my treasure
And combing your hair that is gold

    I spent the night awaken
As the first time I came to pay court to you
No lights remain in the harbour
So I will be watchful in case you confused the sea

You say it’s for the best
    Out of sight
    Out of mind
But I just want to be with you

    I don’t mind waiting
    You bring me back memories
    Of seagulls flying
    Guitars, kids, poppies

    I spent the night awaken
As the first time I came to pay court to you
No lights remain in the harbour
So I will be watchful in case you confused the sea

    I spent the night awaken
As the first time I came to pay court to you
No lights remain in the harbour
So I will be watchful in case you confused the sea

    That distance is forgetfulness
I only want to be with you

    I spent the night awaken
As the first time I came to pay court to you
No lights remain in the harbour
So I will be watchful in case you confused the sea

I spent the night unable to get to sleep
As the first time I came to pay court to you
No lights remain in the harbour
So I will be watchful in case you confused the sea
    The sea, the sea…

an example in case you want to try again.

"Me he pasao' la noche en vela
Como la vez primera en que te vine yo a rondar
No quedan luces en el puerto
Así que estaré atento por si confundiste el mar"

    "I spent the night sailing
like the first time that I came prowling for you
no lights remain(on) in the port/harbour
so I will be watchful in case you confused the sea"

    suerte!

    Hi iminadaze

Thank you very much because your improvements, as you'll see I modified the song as you said. However, I must clarify that 'Me he pasado la noche en vela' has nothing to do with sailing, it's just an old spanish expression to say you were all night long awake, usually because a worry. It's natural that it leads to confusion. By the way, vela have two meanings: sail and candle. The second meaning are nearer to the expresion because in the past, when you couldn't sleep you need a candle to keep light on (but I really don't know the exact origin of that expression actually).

Refering 'rondar', it's another expresion meaning to pay court to someone by using the technique of frequenting or visiting places near to the beloved, more than prow.

The ritual ordered that the applicants had to guard their arms during all the previous night to the ceremony in which they would be armed knights. They received confession and the sacrament of eucharist and, as symbol of body and soul purity they were only covered with a tunic or white clothes.

So it has nothing to do with sailing or candles but with the 3th. meanning velar (to be awake)

    Good translation, by the way

    Saludos

please accept my apology I was not aware of the "expression" that it meant
and because of the the way it was worded I assumed it was about sailing.

    Your translation is great!

Default Noche en Vela = Sleepless Nights

Hi. I would like to add a couple of suggestions:

    1) Noche en vela means "sleepless nights"

    2) Me he pasado la noche en vela means "I spent a sleepless night"

    3) Sin que te acune means "without cradling you"

    4) A rondar means "to court or to woo someone". The word "woo" refers to the action of trying to make someone fall in love with you. It sounds more romantic that the old fashion expression "to court someone".
Como la vez primera en que te vine yo a rondar means "like the first time I came to woo you" or "like the first time I came to court you"

    Thanks
