    Default Vasilis Papaconstantinou - S'akoloutho

    translation from stixoi.info

I follow you, into your pocket I slip
like a two-drachma coin so small
I follow you and I know that I fit
inside the dimple that you have in your cheek

Come, hold me tight and take a walk with me,
    into your magical depths
take me with you into your deep kiss
don't leave me alone to get lost

I follow you, I glue myself to your back
    like a sweater in summer,
I follow you and I know that I hurt
I close my eyes and I follow you

Dimitra Galani is a singer who discovered the music of Alkinoos Ioannidis and made it possible for him to record his first record at the age of 23.
Ioannidis was born on Cyprus in Nicosia and studied philosophy in Athens, but eventually gave that up to continue studying theatre which interested him much more. Here is Galani:

Well actually laika is such a wrong term for the nowadays songs. Mikis, Sofia and Haris on the objective side are Laikoi because they sing songs for the problems of laos (the people in a country). But nowadays songs which contain bouzouki is called Laiko. No it's so wrong because these songs have nothing to do with the people, they just speak for a portion of the country and some people in love but they are definitely not laika. The word lost its meaning through years and everyone should consider finding another word for songs of Giannis Ploutarxos or Nikos Oikonomopoulos
