I hope to to God they pay royalties............
Either way .........I have yet to hear one Israeli who can top the Greek performances.............They simply can't....the Greeks do it the B E S T !!!!
Easy, easy, woman, I'm sure there's at least one who'd do it better than all this Greek lot! You know him so well and I'm sure you'll agree that he's got everything it needs to top or even topple them - His Amazingness Harel Skaat! If he can do French classic repertoire then all those Greek songies would be a piece of cheesecake for him!

Here in Israel I helped with creating a buzz around his music....did an interview on the radio ...opened a facebook page and talked to all radio dj's who play Greek music...........and I pass them the breaking news ........for example this winter Yiannis will sing with Mitropanos in Kentro Athina ....I have some Israelis wishing the summer will be over
If any Turkish music company finally decides to win the Israeli hearts with their music I'm really gonna mention your name to them! The scenario would be like:

    0. Show and persuade Batel that Turkish singers are 1001 times better than those whiners accross the Aegean! (as easy as ABC)
    1. Make Batel crazy for your singers. Do the same with her amazing kids!
    2. Invite Batel & kids to the VIP sector at all your concerts in Turkey and show her around the area as a holiday incentive.
    3. Be charming and have bunches of tulips ready for her (From the ******* hotel room you'll pay for her to the VIP sector).
    4. Organise a post-concert meeting after every gig. And hire the best translators and interpreters!!!!
    4. Tell your singers to be truly charming and sexy and tell them to sing at the concerts as nightingales would. No playback, please.
    5. Let Batel act on her own. She'll make your jaws drop.
    6. If Batel comes to Turkey demanding a concert in Israel - don't you dare say "no!" to her!
    7. Expected turnover - billions of liras; so offer some decent royalties to the best music agent on the Israeli soil.

    I appreciate the plan my dear Paul....but...it's actually very simple...all they have to be is ..........Y i a n n i s-like..
Let me give you the technical features of that ambitious aspiration..........
    F O N A R A + HEART + RESPECT
Yiannis never forgets his humble beginning .......and he vowed to be a role model to young people....
23 years later with 5 kids from the same wife.....no drug or alcohol use.......I think he kept his promise to the letter
As for Harel Ska'at.........he does have an amazing voice ....but he struggles with the high notes as we all could see in the Eurovision contest.
What I love about Greek music is that it lies right in the middle ground........not too dramatic-tragic-heroic and not too laid back.
They deliver ( Yiannis Mixalis Vertis ....and a few others ) their songs in the exact amount of sentiment....
I love their story-telling....I love their arrangements....their melodies.. their voices for god's sake ......the investment put into musical production....
You have to give them some credit for creating such an amazing music while going through this crisis...
Have you watched Mixalis new video .......Plai Plai.....it's on my fb wall....
Can you please tell me how to post videos here NOW ?
    Happy Easter

Thank you, Happy Easter to you all, too!

As to videos I use the "insert video" icon that appears above the the white field you write your post when you are in the advanced mode. So when writing a post move to the advanced mode by clicking on an icon on the right below the post field, you shall be transported to a new place. Under the blue stripe with a heading "Your message" and the white "Title:" field you will have three rows of various icons; go to the middle one and choose the 'insert video' icon with a film reel on it. A new small window will open with a field to paste the youtube or other address of the video you'd like to post. This should work fine.

May I ask a favour, please?

Today we commemorate the 69th anniversary of the 1943 Uprising in the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw - could anyone post something appropriate to commemorate those tragic and heroic events of WorldWar II, please?

I hope and pray such events will never happen again.

May peace and love and brotherhood unite all Nations accross the World.

    Shalom!
