no you have the story wrong- i heard natalie on the radio tell the story behind the song- christa wells wrote it because a family lost there 8 month old baby- the baby was asleep in her crib and the found the baby dead when they walked in and a family freinds husband had cancer and died within two months. both deaths were close togther. |

the second verse is wrong. i just got the cd and then i memorized the song. i also memorized "The Real Me". I love that song and i luv ’Live For Today’. Wynonna and Natalie did an awesome job with that song they sang together ’Bring it all together’ |

FACT:The lyric is "Let the hatred NUMB our sorrow"--because that is the temptation-- to NUMB the pain with anger and bitterness. The writer did not lose a baby or a husband, but she had dear friends who suffered these losses and inspired the song with their wisdom and strength. The first verse is entirely about the infant son of her friend who died at around 2 months of age. He had a heart defect which had been treated at birth, but he seemed to be growing strong and doing well up until the time of his death. This is the actual story; it’s been getting a little skewed by well-intentioned but mistaken information-sharing. :)Another friend’s husband did die from cancer, but it took just under a year from diagnosis. You’re all right about one thing, though. GOD IS SOVEREIGN OVER EVERYTHING and GOD IS OUR COMFORTER. Praise Him! |

My sister just had a miscarrige. She heard this song on the way home the day she found out her baby died. Before she left school she came and found me. To see her like that was so painful for me. Thank you for the lyrics. This song means so much to not only her but me too. God bless all who hear and understand this song. It has a amazing message. My sister similarly lost her baby exacly within two months. This is such an amazing song.  ~LYS |
