My favourite turkish tv serie is "Asi". I also watched "Binbir Gece","Ihlamurlar Altinda" , "Dudaktan Kalbe".I am also watching "Yaprak Dokumu" and "Ask-i Memnu"-which I am hopping to end sooner, because I got tired of,still I can't stop watching,I want to know how they will end. I also saw a few episodes of "Son Bahar","Ezel","Ask Ve Ceza" and the first episode of "Gonulcelen"which started last Friday on ATV.
When I will have some spare time,I am planning to watch "Sila".

I've seen (and loved!) Asi and Zoraki Koca/ El 7ob el Musta7eel (funny!) in Arabic. I've just seen the first season of Sila, and I loved it the most. I never thought learning Arabic would get me hooked on Turkish series! . I think that if my Arabic ever gets to a decent level, I'll have to learn Turkish, it's a beautiful language.

By the way, does anyone know when MBC is planning to air the second season of Sila in Arabic? I didn't realise there were two seasons and when I saw the finale of the first season, it just said " الحلقة الاخيرة " (final episode) at the start. I just about had a heart attack when I saw the end of the episode, before I read the message at the very end of the episode about it being continued in the second season.

Thank you for asking this question . . . My favorite all-time series (of ANY language) is YALANCI YARIM with BARIS AKARSU. I began by watching it on YouTube with Volume 1, Episode 1, all the way through! I couldn't understand a word of Turkish, but I laughed and laughed. It always thoroughly entertains. The more frequently the episodes were viewed, some words and phrases became understandable to me.

What is so marvelous about this series is that it is so well-produced and well-acted, that some of the story-line and personal interactions can be followed and understood without knowing Turkish. Still . . . what I wouldn't give to be able to understand every single word, every single nuance . . . !

If anyone is interested, I can give reference links to YALANCI YARIM "English Descriptions" to Volumes 1 - 10 that I created. (Sadly, I lost steam in creating these "Episode Descriptions," as I call them.) No doubt there are many errors, because of not knowing the language. Instead I watched each episode numerous times and on occasion consulted with an online Turkish friend. I want other English-speaking people to enjoy this fantastic romantic-comedy. There are many who would not try (especially here in the U.S.) because of having little exposure to other languages and cultures; at least less exposure than people in Europe. The English Descriptions were difficult to construct, but I enjoyed it. Hmmmm. . . Maybe I will one day begin work on it again!

There's this show I watch sometimes when I see it playing on tv....but I forgot the name. Maybe someone knows which show I mean. It has "Istanbul" in the name, it's a comedy with a funny woman and a very angry man and it always plays in an apartment.

I still don't know what this show is really about cos I watch it randomly, but it's really funny. I'm not sure, but is the actress the same one who played in Eyvah Eyvah? She looks like her. Wow, I'm so clueless.

I think it must be good as long as it's really funny. (Personally I can't stand Turkish dramas. ) Yes, she's Demet Akbağ, a great actress.

The woman in that show is crazy. Here's one example: A guy was thanking her saying "sag olun sag olun..." and her response to that was "sana ne, sag da olurum sol da". She's a bit feminist cos she divorced with 5 husbands. I don't like Turkish dramas either. There's this new show my mum is watching. "Kalbim seni secti" or so...they cry in almost every scene. It must be depressing to watch such shows all the time.
