Thumbs up Zeynep - Yıkıl Karşımdan

Now this is an unusal sort of genre that you rarely hear being sung in Turkish. It's R&B and it contains a great rhythm as well. It also contains some English parts as well, only it's sung by another artist in the song. So, can someone please translate this song for us and let us know what it's talking about?

Yıkıl Karşımdan /

Yıkıl yıkıl karşımdan dağlar yerinde kalsın /
Çekil çekil yolumdan hayat zarını atsın /

Ağlamazdım kirpiğimde yaş olsaydın /
Sakınmazdım gözümde çöp olsaydın /
Gocunmazdım ah yaramda ki kan olsaydın /
Sana ben haram mıydım ki helaline gittin /

İnanmazdım gözümle görmeseydim /
Anlamazdım dokunmazdım ayrılığa /
Sızlamazdım sitemkar olmasaydım /
Gönülden vurmasaydın ben asla ayrılmazdım /

Thanks

Yıkıl Karşımdan /Leave (Get Out)

Yıkıl yıkıl karşımdan dağlar yerinde kalsın /Get out let mountains stand in their place
Çekil çekil yolumdan hayat zarını atsın /Step aside from my way let the life throw its dice

Ağlamazdım kirpiğimde yaş olsaydın /I wouldn't cry if you were a tear in my eyelash
Sakınmazdım gözümde çöp olsaydın /I wouldn't avoid if you were a garbage in my eye *
Gocunmazdım ah yaramda ki kan olsaydın /I wouldn't take offense ah if you were a blood in my wound
Sana ben haram mıydım ki helaline gittin /Was I forbidden (by religion) for you that you went to your halal (something that is legal and allowed in Islam)

İnanmazdım gözümle görmeseydim /I wouldn't believe if I didn't see with my eyes
Anlamazdım dokunmazdım ayrılığa /I wouldn't understand, touch to the separation
Sızlamazdım sitemkar olmasaydım /I wouldn't ache if I wasn't remonstrant
Gönülden vurmasaydın ben asla ayrılmazdım /I wouldn't ever break up if you didn't hit from heart

* Sakınılan göze çöp batar. proverb The thing that one is most anxious to keep out of harm´s way is the thing that always ends up getting damaged.

BTW welcome back TA.

As always, excellent translation Milena.

I had a feeling that the song would contain a bitter message in it and I just love it.

Thank you btw. I just came back from Turkey 6 days ago with a group of friends and we had a blast. We managed to go to Ankara this time around and I was just impressed by how different it was compared to Istanbul. I mean, everything in Ankara was "new", "proper" and a lot more organized. We saw the Anitkabir there which is the huge monument built to commemorate Ataturk's achievements. The place was very educational, interesting and informative. So I'm glad that we got around to finally seeing how Ankara was like. Of course, as I was there, I've heard all sorts of Turkish music. Many of which are todays hits which I quickly managed to recognize.

You're welcome anytime.

I am glad you enjoyed your holiday in Turkey. It is always said that Ankara is more organized bcoz of being capital, etc.I had seen Anıtkabir before,it is truly one of the best places I have ever visited in Turkey.

BTW I hope you can travel to north of Turkey next time. Believe me north is fascinating too.(Local patriotism;since I am from north. )

Perhaps I'll be going there again next year, although I'm not exactly sure as of now. If I do go, then I'll definitely consider going to other new areas that we haven't seen. This is considering that Turkey has so many different corners to discover.

I have a question, when you say "north", which area are you exactly referring to? Since Turkey has a large coast on the Black Sea to the North. If there are special areas that you can recommend which contain special places & monuments that are worth visiting than by all means, do let me know about them.

Yes.Turkey has a large coast on Black Sea.I live on the central coast but I think the best places are on the west and east coast.Actually the best side of Black Sea coast is not monuments, etc. We have the best nature of Turkey here.I mean if you are fond of nature Black Sea coast is right place for you.

For instance;on west Black Sea coast Amasra,Safranbolu and Bolu and on east Black Sea coast Trabzon,Rize,Artvin are worth seeing.

But of course these are very general informations. If you want to know more just tell me (with pm or whatever) I would be glad to help you if you have more questions.

Thank you for explaining and suggesting some of the possible locations that you've listed Milena. I'll definately keep them in mind if we do decide to visit Turkey again next year. I guess the best way to reach those places is to take a bus from Istanbul. I assume that we can also fly to those places but at this point, that would be too pricy for us. Thanks once again.
