Alagül
Gün geceyi bulur
the day finds the night
Zaman canı alır durur
time keeps taking soul(s) (ie, lives)
Bir deli yoldur dünya
a crazy road is the world
yürürüm
i walk
yürürüm yorulmadan
i walk untiredly
Bir yanık düştür
it's a burnt dream
sevda görürüm
i dream love
görürüm uyanmadan
i dream without waking
Yanar yanar
it burns, burns
yanmaya yanmış gönül
the heart has been inflamed with burning (*)
Kanar durur içimde bir alagül
a red rose keeps bleeding in me (**)
Döner başım
my head turns about (ie, i'm dizzy)
döner alıcı kuşlar
hunter birds turns about (literally, taking/seizing birds. eg, eagle, falcon, hawk etc.)
Kışlara dönmüş yazım
my summer has turned into winters
ölüme dönmüş yüzüm yar
my face has turned towards death, dear
Zaman durmaz akar
time doesn't stop, it flows
Bir yüzüm de güze bakar
one face of mine looks at autumn, too
Bir deli yoldur dünya yürürüm yürürüm yorulmadan
Bir yanık düştür sevda görürüm görürüm uyanmadan

(*) yanmaya yanmak: "yanmak" means "to be/fall in deep love" if it's not used in its ordinary meaning. love is regarded as fire that eats up the lover. in this sense, the expression actually means "to be in deep love with love itself." other expressions: "ben yanmışım," "sana yangınım." "yanık" in the lyrics has similar meaning.
(**) there's no such thing as "alagül" in tdk dictionary (and i've never seen an alagül). "ala" means "variegated, multi-colored," also "alaca." the lyricist, burcu tatlıses, plainly means "al gül," a red rose, but the sound of "alagül" has more to emotion than "al gül."
