I also like Grup 84 . Especially the songs: 'Ölürüm hasretinle, kara gözlüm and affet'.

You'll probably like "Emre Aydın" as well. (not a group, only a singer ) Or maybe "Duman", "Vega" etc...

Lola Emre Aydin is my favourite turkish singer, he has beautiful songs and voice. You must listen to
Git
Afili yalnizlik
Unut gittigin bir yerde
Sensiz Istanbul'a Dusmanim

Yeah, Emre has got some great songs and these are the ones I frequently listen to:

Belki bir gün özlersin
Bebeğim
Hareket vakti
Tesadüfen : seems such a sad song, would sure want to know what he's singing about

Default Mor ve Otesi

Hi everyone, first let me say that MVO were the best song by far, too good for Eurovision. I play in a band and i am secretly learning Kis Gileyor.
Although i sadly can't speak Turkish it has to be sung in Turkish, the phonetics, vowel sounds are what i pick up on and it wouldn't sound right in English.
In a way i don't want to know what the lyrics say because they nearly always get lost in translation.
You can't buy Mor Ve Otesi albums in the UK, that is scandalous! If anyone knows of a reliable site where i can buy their albums i'd appreciate you telling me.
Cheers
Mike

Exclamation Addicted!!!

I'm Kis Geliyor addicted! What a beautiful as well as sad song... Is it talking about the coming of the winter, or I got it all wrong? Trying, in vain, to find out what is it referring to, but the machine translators in Internet only make things worst...
Please can anyone help me translating the lyrics for me? Anyway, the song is great, even I don't understand the words -there is so much of sentiment in it overflowing, that is beyond languages...
P.S. MVO rulz! Greetings from Kalamata, Greece

Hey paokforever, i've written my own lyrics for Kis Gileyor but i've kept in the Mirror, mrror, magical mirror because i like it and also out of respect for MVO.
I agree with you that the lyrics don't hold together when they're translated, I'll check the link though that Milena gave you.
Cheers

i agree that lyrcics in english (esp.mor ve otesi) dont hold together... sometimes we are writing explanation of it also but just can do in some songs..because you can find so diffrent meaning under it and hard to explain to foreigns very well..btw but some songs in turkish became more wonderful after translating to english =) even l say "this song was meaningful like this ?:S"

Here's my version of the lyrics, try singing along to them, they fit pretty well i think. I'd sing the final refrain (ayna ayna..) in Turkish ( i can just about manage that !)
Let me know what you think.
Cheers
Mike

Kis Gileyor

A Heart of stone
Is all that you left here with me
A broken heart
Is all that i have can't you see

For all the truths that you denied are plain to see

A Heart of stone
Is all that you left here with me
A broken heart
Is all that i have can't you see , can't you see

Where does your soul hide
I will come and find you
All that i have now
I will lay before you now i know that

Mirror, mirror
Magical mirror
All that you said to me was true

You're probably right, but if Turkey were battling with Russia for the top spot in Eurovision that would have been a close second i think.

Thanks Paokforever, its always a worry when you mess with a song, some people get really upset.

Its great to have Turkey and Russia in the semi finals, i hope Turkey go all the way, they've got the luck in this tournament.

Good to see that I am not alone (from greece) supporting MvO. I too received the entire discography from tulumba.com (it took them one month +1 week but it worth it in the end). Dimitris wow, I am impressed that you follow up so closely, I wish that I could do that too. Anyway, I would like to see them live too....

Default ......

hey I'm maja from macedonia and I think that Deli from mor ve otesi was the greatest song that turkey ever had for eurovision!I think that it's better that they sang the song in turkish althought many people did't understand it!!It was very interesting!it is kind of stupid and boring that every country is having their song on english!!it was brave from your side to do this!!!

p.s-have you hurd the turkish version of the macedonian song-let me love you!!it's nice
