It is much safer than living in Tel Aviv. Well, we dont have bomb attacks everyday....remember Madrid and London had it too.

The biggest problem in Istanbul is damn traffic and unless you are well-off, life is not so cheap. I mean if u wanna enjoy a certain way of life, it's almost as expensive as in Europe (almostt..)

It's not the safest city of Turkey to live; that's because it has almost 15 million people of different backgrounds, cultures; quite a metropolitan city; whereas it doesnt have a settled, well-organized public transportation....without car, you are doomed.

    But it's a unique city....still good luck

I've been living in here since I was born...As Koukla says traffic is a problem in central areas... for example taksim, kadıköy, beşiktaş, ümraniye... especially mornings and evenings... public transport was very bad a few years ago, but the municipality made some modernities... they are adding new metro stations, there are metrobuses...if you're young I'm sure that you will like Taksim and Kadıköy... there are lots of things to do in Istanbul... When you see the crowd all the streets you'll go crazy there are people everywhere... a small city and 15 million people...

oo "deli melek" please take me with you..
i adore Istanbul,i vistit it every year the last three years, the last summer i stayed there for a whole month,i didnt want to leave..
dont worry,Istanbul isnt so dangerous as u may think..
but as it is a city with 15 million people, you must be careful about the area you will choose to live at.And at nights it is better to have company with you ,if you are out of home, even if the streets are croweded.turkish guys are a little more flirtable, than the guys in Europe..
enjoy your staying there,i think is a heaven city..so lucky!!

Those type of Turkish guys are not flirting, they are hitting on women. I have never seen a more flirtatious nation than Italians in my life (I mean men...)

I'm from the anatolian part... the european part is more crowded, has more traffic jam, but most of the social organisations and nightlife is there....
