I requested a lot of songs for translation within two days. But I would be completely happy, if only this endless beautiful song would be translated into English. This single song stands for all. For me there is no better one.

No, I don't believe in any ideology. But if I would have an ideology, it should claim this song for itself.

There are so many further versions of this traditional Türkü. For example Zeynep Başkan:

*Lokman Hekim is believed to be the master of all the doctors. It is said that knew every flower and every herb and for which illness they are used. In some sources, it is claimed that he found even the elixir of immortality but somehow lost it.

Anyway it already was my personal hymn because of it's musical expression.

I'm so glad, it reflects my personal attitude with regards to content as well: Kırarım zinciri giderim yare. That's the direct opposite of any ideology!

Can I ask how you know so many "türkü" and where your love for "türkü" is coming from?

Music is the reason, why I'm in very close contact to Turkish people in Germany. Many of them students or graduate. Some of them are under influence of 1980. And especially their music impressed me deeply, mostly Özgün and Türkü. That's it.
