can anyone guess where my username came from? lol
oh, I did already on your wall and the thread where you asked for help. Now on my poetry thread there are on page 3 three short thoughts in shape of poetry on which Doug Denslowe has commented . He wants me to fix them together in a songshape. Two of the three have a title, one of them is "I remember". I posted them in blue print. I am now working on these, but suggestions are welcome. WishinOnAStar: you couldnot go into the jungle and leave your stereo at home, lol Too bad!
lol nope not even that honestly my ipod goes where i go lol :P
I've started writing "ipod in the jungle", a song dedicated to you( )
and finished it It's on my poem thread I hope you like it - inspite of the tragic end (hehe, black humour, lol )
Jiminy Cricket have something to do with your name,Star?
I'm gonna try to fix 3 poems of mine into a entity, as Doug has proposed. Soon tell you more.
Walking Shoes Blues (I'm still working on this, that's why I'm posting it here)The "Walk on Down"part is a big overture, the next line is sung solo. When I'm sick of T.V. News When I'm tired of Pills and booze Look in the corner For my shoes And walk, walk, walk away Them blues Walk on down Walk those blues away Walk on down Tomorrows another day Walk on down Everything will be all right Walk on down And get yourself some walking shoes When I'm tired of Paying those dues When Ive nothing left To lose I look in the corner For my shoes And walk, walk, walk away Them blues Walk on down Walk those blues away Walk on down Tomorrows another day Walk on down Eveything will be all right Walk on down And get yourself some walking shoes (well, that's what I've got for now,I've got the music worked out.I usually write the lyrics first, but this came together at the same time.)
Hi, Doug! First. What means "playing those dues?"? Is it a expression used in USA? I'm not familiar with it. When reading these lyrics many a time it starts to swing in my head as a rather slow-motion blues . Remember "Count your little fingers"of Janis? or her "One good man"? That kind of rhythm is the one I'd like to use, inhaling the joy of leaving certain rusty habits behind. However, I can also hear it as a much faster blues rhythm. Which one have you chosen? The thought behind the song suits blues very well indeed, I think. The term "walk" being used as chosing "to do it your own way", typical for blues singers such as John Lee Hooker I'll wait to see what your final version will look like. Promising indeed!
