What kind of god can let the innocent suffer
Let an only child lose his father and his mother
Let war, famine, drought continue without sign of relief?
All this tihs and more has got me questioning my belief
Do You sit back laughing, as the rest of us cry?
Do You relax and smile as people spread Your lies?
Do You turn Your back while we wait for Your “grace?”
Are You nonchalant with a pleasant look on Your face?
How many martyrs spilt their blood for nothing?
Are You our shepherd, or are we lambs for the hunting?
He pours out his heart to the shrug of a shoulder
Dad’s dead, mom’s got cancer, the world just got colder
Mental anguish is slowly taking o’er his head
Sometimes he thinks it’d be better if he were dead
Are You proud of Yourself, all the pain You’ve caused
Are You still waiting for a gnikcuf round of applause
He can’t help the world, for that ship has sailed
Back and forth on God, I guess he’s goin’ to hell
Is told he is nice, but he wonders himself
Is hurt inside, but few can really tell
I do believe it's always fair to question, especially when it seems to be "the" question of all the ages ... "why?" ... but if I may say, from my own perspective, that people don't necessarily spread His lies, most often they spread the lies of really bad instruction. Sad to say, the world is filled to overflowing with exactly that. I don't want to philosophize too much in a place like this just trying to offer something, because I understand it myself (been there) and I think there's always a "better answer" ...
(edit) I did catch your last post Innskeep, so my post is just for whoever or whyever
