A Woodpecker song

I remember YEARS ago (over 10) I was at a friends house and he had found an old cassette tape that had a song on it. We always referred to it as "The Woodpecker Song". The song was about a woodpecker and his adventures, however, the whole song was "dirty". I've been trying to find this song for years, and no luck. I have found a couple woodpecker songs ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGBclwRgnhg and also http://www.odps.org/glossword/index....term&d=5&t=211 ) however neither of these seem to be what I'm looking for.

One thing I remember VERY well about the song is that at some point, near middle of the song, a story starts about a young sapling in the forest. The sapling wants to know who his parents are, he asks an owl, the owl tells him to ask the woodpecker. The woodpecker tells the sapling he doesn't know who the father is, but the saplings mother was the finest piece of white ash he's ever put his pecker into.

I also think the song was played on an acoustic guitar, but I could be wrong

Please help! I've been searching for this song for MANY years.
I don't know why I feel I need it so badly, but I've been obsessed with finding it for too long to give up.
