As I’m waiting, just sitting on the docks,
Watch the boats roll in, camouflaged against the rocks,
Shirt draped lazily, hanging off my shoulder,
There goes Rosie- Jane, My god how she looks older,
And 33 is not the age to sit and wonder why,
That just 10 years ago, I sat right here and watched this sky,
This day like memories, with blazing smiles and light blonde hair,
And now across the sea’s, remember when we never used to care,

I close my eyes and I just wonder,
How the lightning and the thunder,
Came to rest upon this town,

We used to laugh, we used to smile,

If we could go back when, we’d cool off swimming,
When the sun shone down and this water was so mild.
We were just 10 normal kids, we needed nothing, we had our friends,
But who cares about the future, surely this playground never ends,
I guess we were just so naïve, so full of lust and foolish dreams,
But I’d never change what we felt then, or ponder what could’ve been

And as we boarded that plane, for our long awaited summer trip,
Each of us content with calmness, and our cocktails we could sip,
Then looking out the window, I see now, what I saw many years ago,
When living was always winning, and there was no such word as low.
Our parents were pretty strict on us,
But we defied them all the same,
No worries about money,
Or love, success or fame.
We just wanted pure happiness,
And that’s exactly what we got,
And its these vivid memories I keep,
That shall never be forgot,
